A Holly Jolly Christmas — FMS 117

Oh, my!  We’re getting close to Christmas!  Just one week away!  And I get to be the hostess this week over at Freshly Made Sketches.  Here’s the sketch:

This sketch has lots of “white” space, and gives you the chance to use up some of those pretty paper scraps you’ve been hoarding.  I made another Christmas card with the sketch, and kept it very clean and simple with a couple of extra details — some stitching, glitter and gold foil paper, and a button.

Corner BannersI hope you can take a little break from your Christmas shopping, baking, wrapping, etc…and make a card using the sketch.  I’d love to see what you make!  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the rest of the design team made.  I already took a peek, and they have all done an outstanding job!

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Joy — FMS116

It’s Wednesday again already!  Can you believe it?  It’s time for another sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our fabulously talented Australian team member, Narelle Farrugia has a great sketch for us:

I love this sketch!  It’s nice and simple, and it has such fun banners on it.  I really stuck to the sketch this time, and pulled out my A Banner Christmas set.

Birthday Ribbon — FMS114

It’s Wednesday again, and that means it’s time for another sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  And this week, the lovely (and super talented) Linda Suarez has a fun sketch for us.

I pulled out several stamp sets for this one and just couldn’t get happy with anything.  Then I reached for the Blue Ribbon set, which hasn’t seen ink in a long time, and I decided to give it some much needed love.

Starry Wishes — FMS113

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  And since it’s Wednesday, that means it’s time for another sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week the super talented Cindy Hall is our hostess and she has a fun sketch for us.  As soon as I saw this sketch, I knew I’d love it!

I had just opened my new My Paper Pumpkin kit, and I loved it so much, I wanted to use it right away.  The card idea that comes with the kit is really cute, but I wanted to make one to go with this sketch.  It was really easy and came together in just a few minutes.

Starry WishesI love the star garland that comes in this kit!  And the red and vanilla striped card bases are so festive!  I just added the little strips of glimmer and foil paper and the candy dots.  The rest came with the kit, including the sweet sentiment stamp.

Go by and check out what the rest of the design team did with the sketch at the Freshly Made Sketches site, and then make a card and post it to our gallery.  We love seeing what you make too!

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Bright Colors Make Me Happy — FMS112

It’s hard to believe but it’s Wednesday again!  And Jen Brum has a real treat for us this week.  Look at this fun sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches site:

Isn’t this a fun, original sketch?  I had lots of ideas for this one, and ended up really wanting to use washi tape and some bright colors.  Both of these things make me happy.

Washi Makes Me HappyThis was a simple card to make.  Washi tape makes card-making really easy and fast.  The most time-consuming part of this card was threading the buttons (I don’t like naked buttons on my cards :)).

I hope you’ll join us with this sketch!  The design team made some fabulous cards this week, so go by the Freshly Made Sketches site and take a look.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Snowflakes and Sequins — FMS111

It’s Wednesday again!  And that means it’s time for another sketch challenge at the Freshly Made Sketches site.  The supremely talented and the one with great wit, Linda Callahan, has a good one for us too:

I still had the Festive Flurry stamps and dies on my desk, so I decided to use them again since they seemed to be perfect for this sketch.

Snowflake SequinsI added a few fun sequins.  And I have to confess that I struggle a little with sequins because I never know when to stop.  I’ll start out with three, and then before I know it I have eight!

Go check out what the other designers have for you over at the Freshly Made Sketches site.  And then play along with us and add your card to the gallery.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Four Pansies — FMS110

It’s Wednesday again!  And that means we have another sketch for you over at Freshly Made Sketches!  Our hostess this week is Rita Wright, and besides having one of the cutest toddlers, she is also a very talented stamper.  Here’s her sketch:

This one was challenging for me.  I always have a hard time with sketches like this, where there are multiple small boxes or circles.  I hadn’t used the Flower Shop stamp set in a while, so I pulled it out.   I embossed the flowers with white embossing powder on Calypso Coral card stock, and then I embossed the sentiment with black embossing powder on vellum card stock.  Very simple.

Ho Cubed — FMS109

It’s Wednesday, and that means a new sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches! And this week, Jen Mitchell, who makes such beautiful CAS cards has a fun one for us:

I almost feel like I cheated on this challenge.  Stampin’ Up! has these cute little tags in the Holiday catalog called the Season of Style Designer Journaling Tags.  I think they’re really made for scrapbooking, but they look so cute on cards too.  I stamped the Ho cubed and punched it out with a circle punch, and that was all of the stamping on this card.  See what I mean about cheating?

A Cup of Tea — FMS108

It’s Wednesday, and the queen of beautiful layers, Narelle Farrugia, has a great sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  I love Narelle’s style — she is not only talented at making cards with precise, clean layers, but she makes beautiful bows and makes monochromatic cards look so pretty.

I have had the Tea Party stamp set sitting on my shelf collecting dust for at least three months now.  I decided that this is a perfect sketch for this set, so I put it to use.

A Bright and Happy Note Card — FMS107

Our Artisan award-winning and super talented Jennifer Timko has a fabulous sketch for us this week at Freshly Made Sketches:

Now that we have the super cool Envelope Punch Board, we can make cards of any size and have a coordinating envelope.  When I saw this square sketch, I thought I’d make a 4″ x 4″ note card.  I pulled out my Tape It stamp set, which is so much fun, and went to work with some bright colors.
