Spooky Sweets — Monday Montage #125

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of nine stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

Now that we have come to the month of October, it’s time to get serious about Halloween treats.  While I’m not all that excited about Halloween as a holiday, I do enjoy the treat making part of it.

The Spooky Sweet bundle was my set of choice this year.  Here are a couple of simple treats I pulled together with it.

I used a small paper sack for the first treat.  It holds a variety of miniature chocolate bars.  I used a strip of dsp from the Country Lane dsp collection and a scrap of black glimmer paper I found in my scrap pile.  I embossed the bats with black embossing powder to add a little shine.  The orange moon was punched from a piece of Mango Melody card stock.

My favorite accessory in the holiday catalog is the Black 3/8″ Glittered Organdy Ribbon.  It is so sparkly and is gorgeous!

For the second treat, I used one of the Clear Tiny Treat Boxes and the same supplies as used for the treat sack above.

Pizza Box Trick or Treat — Monday Montage #100

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.  This is a rather special hop for us as it is our 100th hop together.  All of the same original members too!  We’ve been doing this together for over four years now.  Wow — how time flies!

I decided I need to get started on some Halloween treats.  One of the new items in the Holiday catalog that I think is truly adorable are the Mini Pizza Boxes.  They are easy to decorate and they are the perfect size for a decorated cookie or any kind of treat.

I started this one by wrapping a strip of Printed Autumn dsp, edged with some Basic Black card stock punched with the Ticket Tear Border Punch, around the box.  Some embossing paste was applied to a Fresh Fig Stitched Shapes circle using a stencil from the Pattern Party Decorative Masks.  The cat was cut from the Spooky Night dsp, and the sentiment is from the Creep It Real stamp set.

Oh, I love Fall!  It’s fun to make Halloween treats and pull out the Fall decorations!

Howl-o-Ween Gift Bag Treats — Monday Montage #53

Monday Montage Banner -- October

We have another Monday Montage Blog Hop for you this evening!  There are ten of us stampers who love to share our creations, and all you have to do to follow along is to click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I’m trying to get ahead of the game a little bit when it comes to Halloween, so I made some cute little treat bags with the Gift Bag Punch Board, the Happy Haunting dsp, and the Howl-o-Ween Treat stamp set and coordinating framelits.

Howl-o-ween Treat Punch Board BagsI tucked some candy in each bag and tied them up with some Rich Razzleberry 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon.  Maybe I’ll be less tempted to raid the candy in them before Halloween since they’re tied up with a pretty bow.  Ha!

Hat Treat Owl Treat Bag Skull Treat BagThese were super easy to make, and my daughter is excited to hand these out to friends and teachers at school.

You’re ready hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog for some crafty inspiration.  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can hop over to Wendy Weixler’s awesome blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all ten blogs.

Howl-o-ween Treat — FMS201

Wow!  What a great week we had celebrating our 200th sketch last week at Freshly Made Sketches!  We had such a great turnout, and it was so fun to look at all of the cards in the gallery.  I hope you enjoyed it too, and I hope you’re ready for sketch number 201.  Our so-very-talented friend from Australia, Narelle Farrugia, is our hostess this week.  Narelle is the queen of layers, so it is no surprise that there are some layers on her fun sketch:

I have another sneak peek of some new products in the Holiday Catalog, which will be released on September 1.  There were two stamp sets with coordinating dies that immediately went to the top of my wish list, and I’ve used one of them today — the Howl-o-Ween Treat stamp set and coordinating Boo to You Framelits Dies.  I love Halloween, but I’m not a fan of the scary stuff.  I like cute Halloween stuff.  And this set is perfectly cute.

Howl-o-ween TreatI’ve also used some other fun new products — the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Black Glimmer Paper, and Happy Haunting dsp.  I also used the new Basic Black Archival ink pad, which I am loving.

Howl-o-ween Treat Close UpWe hope you’ll play along with us this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  You should click on over to the Freshly Made Sketches website to see what the design team made with this sketch for a big dose of inspiration.

Creepy, Crawly Chevrons — FabFri

It’s a Fab Friday day today!  And we have a sketch challenge for you:

I love this sketch, but for some reason it gave me fits!  I tried many different ideas for this card and was just about ready to throw in the towel because I wasn’t liking the way any of them were turning out.  Then I stepped away and when I came back I decided I was trying to make it too hard by trying to be creative.  So I just copied the sketch exactly like it is, and voila, I finally had a card.  Whew!  Creativity is just hard on some days!

Creepy Crawly ChevronsYou can see the other designers’ creations over at the Fab Friday site here.   I hope you’ll join us as we love seeing what you create too.

Enjoy your Friday!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Simple Halloween Card

I had just a little time to stamp yesterday, so I made a quick and easy card for Halloween.  I love the black glitter that’s in the Holiday catalog, and it’s so easy to apply on a piece of sticky strip.  I had a button leftover from the Halloween Banner Simply Created Accessory Kit, so I used it on this card.

Creepy, Crawly Halloween Treat Sack — FabFri28

Wow!  It’s already time for another Fab Friday challenge.  And this time around we have a fun color challenge for you:

Since this one just screamed Halloween to me, I decided to just go with it.  I love making little Halloween treats, so that is what I decided to make for this challenge.  The little Mini Muslin Bags are such a great size to hold bite-size candies and little treats.  And they’re so fun to decorate!

Creepy Crawly Treat SackUsing the stencils in the Build a Banner Simply Created Kit, I sponged Rich Razzleberry ink to make the polka dots on the bag.  It was pretty quick and I love how this allows you to decorate the bags with any color scheme you choose.

Go by the Fab Friday blog and check out what the other designers made with the colors in this week’s challenge.  And then make your own project and share it with us.  You have two weeks!

Enjoy your Friday!  Thanks for stopping by!
