Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

Two of my children have milestone birthdays next week.  My oldest will turn 18 on Thursday and my middle child will turn 16 on Tuesday.  It is fun to see them grow and mature, but I wish it didn’t have to happen so quickly.

Since my middle child is a Valentine’s baby, when she was little I always made her birthday party invitations and cards with a heart theme.  As she got older, she asked me to stop — she wasn’t into that and wanted a Star Wars theme or a Dr. Who theme, or a whatever-she-was-interested-in-at-the-time theme instead.  I must say it made me a little sad, but I could understand her desire.  But now that she is turning 16, and she is a sweet 16, I couldn’t resist.  One last time!  It’s just too fitting to make her card with hearts for this milestone occasion.

sweet-16I at least tried to use colors that I know she loves — Daffodil Delight, Peekaboo Peach, and Bermuda Bay.  She loves bright, happy colors which suits her personality.

sweet-16-close-up

The “sweet” on the sentiment was stamped by selectively inking up part of a sentiment from the Birthday Banners stamp set.  The stamped hearts are from the Sealed with Love stamp set.  The large heart was cut from the Carried Away dsp with a Sweet & Sassy Framelits die.  The tiny hearts are from a Paper Pumpkin stamp set.

I got my inspiration for this card from the current sketch over at the CAS(E) this Sketch site.  Here’s their sketch for the week:

A Big Love You — Monday Montage #86

monday-montage-banner-october

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I am still on my Valentine cards kick.  For this card, I made myself step away from the Sending Love suite (but I do have another one coming this week), and decided to just use some die-cuts.  I pulled out the Sunshine Wishes dies and the Sweet & Sassy Framelits dies, as well as some Sending Love dsp (so I guess I didn’t totally step away from this suite — baby steps).

gray-heartsI used a Basic Gray card base.  The “you” part of the sentiment was made with the Labeler Alphabet stamp set.  This card came together pretty quickly.  The hardest part was deciding which sheets of dsp to use.

Another Year Full of Adventures — Monday Montage #85

monday-montage-banner-october

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

When I was making birthday cards recently, I was drawn to one of the stamps in the new Balloon Adventures stamp set.  It has a sentiment that I thought was particularly appropriate for the start of the new year.  I fully expect 2017 to be a year full of adventures, especially as our oldest child will be graduating from high school this Spring and leaving for college in the Fall.  No matter how much I try to make time slow down, it just keeps speeding by.

heres-to-another-yearI love balloons for birthdays, and this set has some really fun ones.  And they coordinate with the Balloon Bouquet Punch.  I love that too!

I used a festive color combo of Pacific Point, Watermelon Wonder, Crushed Curry, and Cucumber Crush.

heres-to-another-year-close-upI colored in part of the sentiment with my Stampin’ Write Markers.  Easy peasy!  The strips of dsp are from the Party Animal dsp collection and the In Color DSP stack.

Cupcake Truck — Monday Montage #84

Even though I’m still woefully behind on my Christmas to-do list and should be entirely focused on that, I received my pre-order box of Occasions catalog and Sale-a-Bration items and couldn’t resist playing with just a little bit of it.  These catalogs won’t be live until January 4, but I thought I’d give you a sneak peek.

One of the items I was so excited to break open was the Watercolor Pencils.  And there is the cutest set in the Sale-a-Bration catalog, Tasty Trucks, that is perfect for coloring.  This set will be a free item with any $50 purchase.

cupcake-truckThese new pencils are so easy to blend.  I used a blender pen for this, but an aqua painter works well too.

A sheet from the Cupcakes & Carousels stack was used for the background.  This paper will be available in the upcoming Occasions catalog on January 4.

cupcake-truck-close-upThis is such a fun stamp set.  I love how you can customize this cute truck with lots of tasty treats.  Wouldn’t a cupcake truck be awesome if it came down your street?!?  It’s probably a good thing we don’t have one.

Shaker Snowman — Monday Montage #83

monday-montage-banner-october

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I am still recovering from my four-day feeding frenzy.  One of the good (??) things about hosting Thanksgiving dinner is you get lots of yummy leftovers.  It’s the pie that does me in.  My mom makes wonderful pies, especially cherry pie with cherries from her own tree.  It’s a good thing Thanksgiving is just once a year!

I haven’t done much stamping over the past month, so when I sat down to make a card for this hop I was kinda stumped.  I decided to take a look at one of my favorite challenge sites, The Paper Players, for a jump start.  They have a sketch challenge this week, which is just what I needed to get me going.

pp323

I thought it might be fun to make a shaker card.  When I saw the Mica Flakes Trio Pack in the Holiday Catalog, I knew I wanted to make a shaker card with the Snow Place stamp set, which is in the Annual Catalog.

snowman-shaker

I started with a Soft Sky card base and stamped the snowflake images from Snow Place randomly.  The base of the shaker part is a piece of Fancy Frost Specialty dsp and I lightly sponged some Soft Sky ink onto it.  I stamped the cute snowman and cut him out with the coordinating Snow Friends Framelits dies.

The sentiment is from an old Paper Pumpkin stamp set and was cut out with the new Stitched Shapes Framelits Dies.  A bit of pretty Silver Glitter Ribbon and Real Red Baker’s Twine finished it off.

Thanks from Bella — Monday Montage #81

monday-montage-banner-october

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

My daughter needed a quick thank you card and the recipient is a big dog lover, so I pulled my Bella & Friends set off the shelf and whipped up an easy card.

bella-thanksI used a strip of my favorite dsp, which comes from the Petals & Paisleys collection.  A strip of Silver Glimmer Paper and Rich Razzleberry ribbon were layered on top.

Some splatters from The Timeless Textures stamp set were added with Smoky Slate ink.

bella-thanks-close-upI was inspired by the sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch.  Nothing like a good sketch to get your creative juices flowing when you’re in a hurry.

A Fall Birthday Bouquet — Monday Montage #80

monday-montage-banner-october

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

Stampin’ Up! offers some great stamps and dies with flowers and leaves.  Sometimes I have a hard time choosing which one to use.  For today’s card, I couldn’t decide so I ended up using two.  Why not?  Here’s a card that mainly uses Falling Flowers and includes a leaf from the Flourish Thinlits Dies.

fall-birthday-bouquetI wanted to make a Fall bouquet, so I used a color palette of Mint Macaron, Rich Razzleberry, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso, and Delightful Dijon.  The dsp is from the Petals & Paisleys pack.

The sentiment is from the Sunshine Sayings stamp set.  It would be correct to assume that my desk is a big mess now after pulling out so many different things to make this card.  It’s fun to mix and match though!

Star of Light — Monday Montage #79

monday-montage-banner-october

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I added another quick and easy Christmas card to my stash this weekend.  I think I may have to make a few more of this one if (who am I kidding — when) I run out of time in December.  I used the Star of Light stamp set and coordinating thinlits to make it.

star-of-wonder

I stamped the starry swirl with Dapper Denim ink on some Whisper White card stock.  I love this image!  The detail is so beautiful.

The star was cut with some Silver Foil card stock and Silver Glimmer Paper.  Super quick! Some silver sequins and metallic thread finished it off.

Hooray for Birthdays — Monday Montage #78

monday-montage-banner-october

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

One of the things I love most about the Irresistibly Floral dsp is that you can add any color you like to it.  I wanted to make a bright and happy birthday card, so I made one with a fun color combination of Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo.  It was easy to sponge on a little Daffodil Delight ink to the dsp.

hooray-birthdayI used the stamp set Confetti Celebration for the focal image.  A little black Metallic Thread was looped underneath and some Melon Mambo Brights Enamel Shapes were placed around the card.

Scenic Collage — Monday Montage #77

Monday Montage Banner -- October

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

Sometimes you need a card with a simple sentiment to send to a friend who lives far away if you just want to let her to know you’ve been thinking about her.  I love the sentiments in the Scenic Sayings set, and knew that one of them would be perfect for a friend who has been on my mind.

Scenic CollageI started by running a piece of Kraft cardstock through the Big Shot with the Sparkle embossing folder.  I die cut a couple of greenery stems from the May Flowers Framelits dies from Dapper Denim cardstock.  A circle from Fruit Stand dsp was cut with a Layering Circles Framelit die.

Some of the absolutely fabulous gold baker’s twine from the Baker’s Twine Trio Pack, which is one of the offerings in the new Holiday Catalog was layered under some 3/8″ Mint Macaron ribbon.

Scenic Collage Close UpThis was a quick card to assemble and it has so many fun elements which I love.
