Monday Montage Banner -- October

Now that the sun is out in force again here and everything is turning green, I am getting Spring Fever.  I think that is carrying over into my stamping life too, as I keep pulling out Spring colors and floral sets when I set down to create.

I had some of the little flowers from the Circle of Spring set colored and cut out on my desk that were leftover from another project, and they were just waiting to be used.  So as I looked around, I kept pulling out different products that I thought might pair well with them.  Before I knew it, I had used all sorts of things to make a collage with these happy flowers.

Hello CollageI started by misting a mixture of Pool Party ink and rubbing alcohol onto a piece of Color Me Irresistible dsp.  That added just a little bit of soft color for the background.  The yellow circles were made with Daffodil Delight ink and a stamp from the Memories in the Making stamp set.  I cut out some Pear Pizzazz leaves with a die from the Rose Garden Thinlits collection and used a few strands from the White 1-1/4″ Jute Ribbon.

Hello Collage Close UpI added a Calypso Coral butterfly from Butterfly Basics and a sentiment from the Greetings Thinlits Dies.  And now I have a mess of things to put away on my desk!  🙂

A Bicycle for Two — Monday Montage #65

Monday Montage Banner -- October

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is to click on the links at the bottom of each post.

Sale-a-Bration is winding down to a close soon so if you haven’t gotten all of the sets you want yet , you’d better do so quickly as there is less than two weeks left.  One of the sets I love is Pedal Pusher.  It has such cute accessories for the sweet bicycle.

Bicycle for TwoI stamped the bicycle onto some Whisper White Thick Cardstock and colored it with a blender pen and Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate, Soft Suede, Bermuda Bay, Old Olive, and Soft Sky inks.

I stamped the splatters from Timeless Textures with Basic Black ink, and then added part of a Tea Lace Paper Doilie and some Bermuda Bay 1-1/4″ Striped Grosgrain Ribbon onto the card base.

Bicycle for Two Close UpA Silver Basic Metal Button, Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim and some Black Baker’s Twine finish it off.  The coloring took a little time, but it was fun.  All in all a pretty quick  and easy card.

Sunshiny Shine — Monday Montage #63

Monday Montage Banner -- October

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is to click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I haven’t had much time for stamping lately, which is very sad.  I only had 45 minutes to make a card, photograph it and get it into a blog post for this hop, so I knew I needed to make a clean and simple card.

Sunshiny Shine

I started with the Sunburst Thinlits die and cut out the sunburst from white card stock.  I stamped the little dotted lines from the Sunburst Sayings stamp set with Daffodil Delight ink onto the rays.  The sentiment is also from Sunburst Sayings and was embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto Daffodil Delight card stock.

I added just a couple of embellishments — gold sequin trim, white baker’s twine, and a little snip of White Tea Lace Paper Doilies.

Cheerful Colors with Sympathy — Monday Montage #62

Monday Montage Banner -- OctoberWelcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is to click on the links at the bottom of each post.

My daughter needed a sympathy card for a favorite teacher who suffered a terrible loss recently.   Sympathy cards are so hard to make, and tears were running down my face as I made this one.  But we wanted her to know that she is loved and we are praying for her.

I hadn’t used my Helping Me Grow stamp set yet, so I pulled it off the shelf, and used some pretty, cheerful colors with it.

Helping Me Grow with SympathyI watercolored the image with my aquapainter on watercolor paper.  I used So Saffron, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, and Soft Sky inks.

The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder set and so is the label border.

Helping Me Grow with Sympathy Close UpI kept this card really simple and the embellishments to a minimum because of the occasion.

No Road is too Long — Monday Montage #61

Monday Montage Banner -- October

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is to click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I am trying to get a little ahead on my Valentine’s Day cards.  My older daughter’s birthday is on that day and my son’s birthday is two days later.  So it’s a busy week in our house!  I don’t want Valentine’s Day to get lost in the shuffle, so I need to do some prep ahead of time.

I decided to make a Valentine’s card for my husband using the Beautiful Ride stamp set.  I love this cute little car!  My next-door neighbors in the small town where I grew up had VW bugs, which they used as delivery vehicles for their pharmacy store.  Yes, pharmacies used to deliver your prescriptions to your home!  Since their family had several of these fun cars, there seemed to always be at least one parked in their driveway.  Now, whenever I see a VW bug on the road, I always think of their sweet family.

Sorry for the trip down memory lane!  I decided to use a sheet of the Going Places dsp.  Not only does it have some prints which are perfect for masculine cards, but it has some sheets that look like maps, which I thought would pair perfectly with the car.

Good Company Love BugI crumpled up the piece of dsp and then flattened it out before adhering it to the card base.  I then stamped the image on some Watercolor Paper and colored it with an Aqua Painter and Pool Party, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Real Red, and So Saffron inks.

The sentiment was embossed with black embossing powder on Real Red card stock.  I added a little washi tape, Silver Metallic Thread, Silver Foil Sheet (punched with the Banner Punch), and staples.

Good Company Love Bug Close UpThis was a pretty quick card to make, and it was fun to color.

A Sale-a-Bration Hello — Monday Montage #60

Monday Montage Banner -- OctoberWelcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is to click on the links at the bottom of each post.

We are now into the first week of the Occasions catalog and Sale-a-Bration.  Woohoo!!  I love this time of year!

Three of the Sale-a-Bration offerings are only available for a short time (until February 15) this year, so be sure you don’t overlook these when ordering.  I used one of these sets, Hello, for my project today.  My daughter has a birthday next month, and I thought I would get a little ahead of the game and make her a card and gift bag.

SAB Ensemble Hello

I paired this stamp set with some fun dsp from the It’s My Party dsp stack, which is available in the Occasions catalog.  These projects use a color scheme of Mint Macaron, Crushed Curry and Melon Mambo.

SAB Hello Card

I started with a Mint Macaron card base, and then embossed the sentiment with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder on a piece of Watercolor Paper.  I then brushed on some Mint Macaron ink to create a washed background.

SAB Hello Card Close Up

A strip of It’s My Party Designer Washi Tape and dsp was layered over the Watercolor Paper.  I then added some of the fun It’s My Party Enamel Dots.

SAB Hello Bag

A Petite Cafe Gift Bag was decorated with some of the It’s My Party dsp, stamps from the Hello set, and It’s My Party Designer Washi Tape across the top.  I finished it off with some Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine and a Clothespin with an In Color Blossom Accent attached.

Botanical Thanks — Monday Montage #59

Monday Montage Banner -- OctoberWelcome to our last Monday Montage blog hop of 2015!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create, and all you have to do to follow along is to click on the links at the bottom of each post.

One of the product suites in the upcoming Occasions catalog is the Botanical Gardens suite — stamp set, framelits, dsp, washi tape, etc…  It is a fun suite because there are so many options with it.  There are lots of blooms and leaves to mix and match.  There is a bundle available for this suite in which you can get the stamp set, dies, and dsp for 15% off.  Love that!  All of these products will be available starting on January 5.  And to make it an even better deal, by purchasing this bundle you will qualify for one free Sale-a-Bration item of your choice.  You could add the sentiment set I’ve used below for free!

Botanicals ThanksI needed a thank you card for a Christmas gift, so I went with a sentiment from Perfect Pairings, which is a Sale-a-Bration set.  I love a good sentiment set, and this is one that I was excited to see.

All of the flowers and leaves were cut out with the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies.  I used a color scheme of Old Olive, Mossy Meadow, Cherry Cobbler, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, and Pool Party.

For Someone Awesome — Monday Montage #58

Monday Montage Banner -- OctoberHere we go again!  Another Monday Montage Blog Hop for you!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we do.  And all you have to do to follow along is to click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I wanted to make a card of encouragement/thanks for a friend who just did an awesome job on something last week.  I know it wasn’t easy for her and was most likely a little scary, but she did an awesome job.  I immediately thought of a stamp in the Big News stamp set, which I knew would be perfect.

Awesomeness LimitI pulled out my stack of Pretty Petals dsp and selected three different patterns.  I then inked up my stamp with Calypso Coral, Mint Macaron, and Basic Black inks using my Stampin’ Write Markers, and stamped on some Very Vanilla card stock.  I cut out the image with a Lots of Labels framelit die.

Some punched out flowers, paper piercing, and black baker’s twine finished off the card.  It came together pretty quickly.

Presents under the Trees — Monday Montage #57

Monday Montage Banner -- OctoberWelcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  There are ten of us who love to share what we create, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

Now that Thanksgiving is over, there is no denying that Christmas is quickly approaching. I just need to embrace it and dive right in, so I decided to make a Christmas card for today.

I pulled out my Peaceful Pines set and coordinating framelits because I have so much fun decorating these cute trees.   I went with a traditional colors scheme of red and green, more specifically — Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Mossy Meadow.  I also threw in some touches of gold because I have been a little obsessed with gold accents lately.

Trees with PresentsI started with a Crumb Cake card base and layered on a sheet of the Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum.   Then I took a piece of Whisper White card stock and stamped some little stars and dots from the Holly Jolly Greetings stamp set with gold ink.  I added some gold thread and sequins and a fun Snowflake Element and Metal Rimmed Pearl.

I stamped the trees with Versamark ink and used clear and white Stampin’ Emboss Powder on Old Olive and Mossy Meadow card stock, and then cut them out with the Perfect Pines Framelits Dies.  The sentiment was cut with a Christmas Greetings Thinlit die from Red Glimmer Paper, and the “Christmas” is a stamp from the Holly Jolly Greetings set, which I embossed with Gold Embossing Powder.

Trees with Presents Close UpThis would not be a card I would want to mass produce, but it’s perfect to send to a special someone.

When creating this card, I decided to play along with Sandy’s current challenge at The Paper Players.  I haven’t done that in a while, and they always have great challenges.

I went with the “Patterned Paper, Sparkle or Shine, and Tree” column.  Or I could say I went with the “Snowflake, Sparkle or Shine, and Punch or Die-Cut” diagonal.  Or how about the “White, Embossing, and Punch or Die-Cut” column.  Just call me indecisive!

Remarkable You with a Watercolor Wash — Monday Montage #56

Monday Montage Banner -- OctoberWelcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  There are ten of us stampers who love to share what we create every other week.  All you have to do to follow along is to click on the link at the bottom of each post.

I have been admiring so many of the beautiful cards that feature a watercolor washed background out in blog land lately.  It is such an easy technique and can work with so many stamps, so I decided to make another card using this technique.

I started by pulling out my Remarkable You stamp set and some watercolor card stock.  After brushing the watercolor paper with some water to get it a little wet, I dipped my wet paintbrush in some Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, and Old Olive inks and brushed them over the paper where I planned to place my stamped image.  After the card stock had completely dried, I embossed the stamped image with white embossing powder.

Watercolored Remarkable YouI then added some black ink splatters and using my fine tip glue pen, added some tiny dots of Gold Stampin’ Glitter.  I also added some gold sequins from the Gold Sequin Trim and some Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive sequins from the Brights Sequin Assortment.

I’ve also been hooked on using touches of black on my cards, so I added the sentiment from the Greetings Thinlits Dies and some peeks of the black striped Winter Wonderland Designer Vellum.

Watercolored Remarkable You Close UpI made this card for a display board sample at the Dallas On Stage Stampin’ Up! event yesterday, which was so much fun.  They gave us copies of the upcoming (releases in January) Occasions Catalog and the Sale-a-Bration brochure, and I am so excited!  There are so many fabulous products in them.  I know I need to focus on finishing up Thanksgiving and Christmas stamping first, but my mind is already thinking about how I want to use some of these new products.

Another fun thing about the On Stage event yesterday — they announced the new Artisan Design team, and I’m pretty sure my name was on the list.  I say “pretty sure” because to tell you the truth, I’m still pinching myself in disbelief, and the whole experience of the announcement yesterday is pretty much a blur.  I was given a beautiful box (with a couple of cool gifts in it) but unfortunately, I can’t show it quite yet because it has some new product on it from the upcoming Occasions catalog and we’ve been asked (told) not to show any sneak peeks.

I am really looking forward to this next year, and I’m so grateful for this Monday Montage team.  We have all entered this contest in the past, and some of my teammates are past winners and some will be future winners.  They are so supportive and inspire me all of the time to try new things and grow.  I love them!
