A Butterfly Birthday

Cheryl's Birthday

This card features some of the new Gingham Garden washi tape, which will be available with the new catalog on May 31.

Have a great Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Theme for Mom — PP144

It’s all about Mom today at the Paper Players.

Now, I know that Mother’s Day is next Sunday, but for those of us who need to get a card in the mail pretty soon in order for Dear Mom to receive her card on time, it’s a good thing that Anne Marie Hile made this challenge for us today.

I was inspired by a picture of a beautiful shower curtain I saw in a Garnet Hill catalog recently.  I tore out the page and pasted it in my inspiration notebook.

The gray on this card is actually one of the new colors, Smoky Slate.  It’s such a pretty gray.  It almost looks silver on the white card stock.

I hope you can make time to join us in the challenge at the Paper Players this week.  You need a Mother’s Day card anyway, right?  Go check out what the other talented designers made:

Enjoy your Sunday!  Thanks for stopping by!

One for Mom

Yesterday, I had a Father’s Day card.  So I figured, it should be Mom’s turn today, right?  Especially since Mother’s Day is right around the corner.

Bright Mother's Day

To make the flower, I just used circle punches and then cut little notches out of the circles with my paper snips.  Pretty easy!  The fun dsp is from the new Gingham Garden dsp, which will be released with the new catalog on May 31.

Enjoy your Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Clockworks Father’s Day Card

I always struggle with Father’s Day cards (really, I struggle with manly cards in general). I decided to pull out my Clockworks stamp set (which hasn’t seen much ink) and play.

Clockworks Father's Day

One of the things I love about this stamp set is that you can’t really mess up.  It’s just messy and fun.

Enjoy your Friday!  Thanks for stopping by!

More Photopolymer Stamps!

show-tell

Stampin’ Up is releasing two more photopolymer stamp sets.  Show & Tell 1 (#133450) and Show & Tell 2 (#133481).  They were both inspired by fashion and by chevron, arrow, and geometric shape trends that coordinate with one another beautifully.

show-tell-art

These sets are so trendy and will be so fun with which to build images.

To go with these fun sets, the downloadable PDF, Seeing the Possibilities Online Class (#134532), stages 15 projects using both of the Show & Tell Stamp Sets. The online class features a collection of enjoyable ideas showcasing topics such as backgrounds, building, layering, versatility, gift-giving, and memory keeping inspiration! You can also bundle (#134533) this class with both of the Show & Tell Stamp Sets and save 15 percent! How fun is that?

You can always order these items from my on-line store.  Enjoy your Thursday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Mosaic Sneak Peek 2 — FMS84

Take a look at the great sketch that Linda Suarez has for us at Freshly Made Sketches this week:

When I first saw this sketch, I thought it would be great for a masculine card (and I never have enough of those).  And since I still had my new Mosaic Madness set sitting on my desk from yesterday, I decided to use it again.

FMS Mosaic

On yesterday’s card I used the coordinating embossing folder and punch.  On this card I used the coordinating dsp.  It has great patterns and fun, bright colors.  It also includes two printed window sheets.  That is what I used on top of the white flag.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  I hope you have time to go check out what the other designers did with the sketch, and to play along with us this week at Freshly Made Sketches.  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Mosaic Madness (available May 31), Made for You
Ink:  Island Indigo, Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie
Paper:  Island Indigo, Pool Party, Whisper White, Quatrefancy Specialty dsp (available May 31)
Embellishments:  Mosaic punch (available May 31), Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Mosaic Sneak Peek

One of the cool things about being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is that we are allowed to see and pre-order selected items from catalogs before they are released to the public.  Last week we were given the opportunity to do this for the upcoming new annual catalog.  One of the new sets I ordered is called Mosaic Madness, and it has a cool new embossing folder and punch which coordinate with the stamp set.  I love coordination!

Mosaic Sneak Peek

This stamp set is super fun!  I can’t wait to play with it more.  I love how it is so easy to build mosaic patterns because you can easily layer the stamps.  Plus, the punch makes it easy to cut them out.  And since the embossing folder coordinates with the punch and stamps, you can use either (or both, as I did with this card) directly on the embossed card stock.  So many possibilities!  So much versatility!

I used the layout from this awesome card made by Christina MacLaren.  I used different colors and different stamp sets, but the same layout.  She always makes such beautiful CAS cards.

Enjoy your Tuesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Splattered Washi Thinking of You copy

I tell ya, this washi tape is fun!  And so easy!  I love that if you don’t get it right where you want it, you can easily lift is back up and reposition it.

This was a super simple card.  I must say that I don’t understand why the Color Spritzer Tool is being retired.  It’s probably my favorite tool!  I will definitely be hanging onto mine.

Bird, Blossom, and Banners — PP143

The super talented Ann Schach has a great sketch for us today at the Paper Players.

I pulled out a neglected stamp set, Betsy’s Blossoms, which I am glad to see is not being retired next month.

I’ll Miss Baja Breeze and the First Edition DSP

I needed to make a simple thank you card to put in the mail.  This card is a notecard sized card.  I still have some of my First Edition dsp that I covered with Gesso a while back.  I stamped the flower and sentiment directly on it (don’t forget to give it plenty of time to dry after stamping).

Thankful Bloom

I used a couple of my favorite retiring products on this card — Baja Breeze card stock and ink and the First Edition dsp.  I will really miss both of these.   However, after looking at the new catalog (which will go live on May 31), there are some beautiful new blues coming and there is a new background stamp that could be used to achieve a similar look as the dsp.  Whew!

Enjoy your Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Blooming with Kindness
Ink:  Baja Breeze, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive
Paper:  Baja Breeze, First Edition dsp
