Happy Wednesday, everyone! And since it’s Wednesday, that means it’s time for another sketch challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches. This week the super talented Cindy Hall is our hostess and she has a fun sketch for us. As soon as I saw this sketch, I knew I’d love it!
I had just opened my new My Paper Pumpkin kit, and I loved it so much, I wanted to use it right away. The card idea that comes with the kit is really cute, but I wanted to make one to go with this sketch. It was really easy and came together in just a few minutes.
I love the star garland that comes in this kit! And the red and vanilla striped card bases are so festive! I just added the little strips of glimmer and foil paper and the candy dots. The rest came with the kit, including the sweet sentiment stamp.

Here’s a simple Christmas card that is great for using up scraps. I took the color scheme from the Season of Style dsp pack, and added some gold foil paper and champagne glimmer paper. Easy peasy!

I have really been enjoying working with gold and white this holiday season. I think it looks so elegant and festive. I’ve made two cards for you with this color combination. I used fiber paste with the polka dot Build a Banner Simply Create Kit stencils on both of the cards. I just love the texture it provides!
On this first card, I used white and gold embossing powder on vellum card stock for the snowflake. I also used some of the gold Smooch Spritz, which Stampin’ Up retired, but I’m having a hard time letting go.
On this second card, I used gold embossing power on the Christmas Star stamp. The sentiment comes from the Endless Wishes photopolymer stamps.

Isn’t this a fun, original sketch? I had lots of ideas for this one, and ended up really wanting to use washi tape and some bright colors. Both of these things make me happy.
This was a simple card to make. Washi tape makes card-making really easy and fast. The most time-consuming part of this card was threading the buttons (I don’t like naked buttons on my cards :)).

I needed a birthday card for a guy, and when I saw the sketch over at Sketchbook Saturday, I knew exactly what to do.
I pulled my color combination from the Color Coach. That is such a great tool to use when I get stuck on colors.
Since it’s a card for a guy, I kept the embellishments to a bare minimum and refrained from adding any ribbon.

I thought I’d play along with the color challenge over at Create with Connie and Mary.
I love these colors together! I decided to make a Christmas card, and I’ve barely used any of the Cherry Cobbler 1″ Stitched Edge Grosgrain Ribbon, so I knew I wanted to use it on this card. But I guess that means I didn’t exactly follow the color challenge, so if I don’t qualify that’s ok. The challenge colors were my inspiration, and I just got sidetracked a little. But that’s one of the great things about challenges — they should serve as a tool to spark your creativity.
