Peaceful Blendabilities

Monday Montage Banner -- OctoberHappy Mother’s Day!  We have another Monday Montage blog hop for you this evening.  There are ten of us participating, so just click on the tabs at the bottom of each post to navigate your way through all of the blogs.

I decided to play with the new Blendabilities markers that Stampin’ Up! will soon be selling (demonstrators were able to order them a month early).  Blendabilities are alcohol-based markers that come in sets of three shades (light, medium, and dark) of the same Stampin’ Up! color.  Now, I am definitely still quite a novice at using these, but I thought I’d share my first card using them.

Peaceful BlendabilitiesI started by cutting a card base of Daffodil Delight card stock.  I then cut a piece of Modern Medley dsp and stamped some splatters using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  Then I cut a piece of Very Vanilla card stock and stamped the Positively Chevron background stamp with Daffodil Delight ink.  I brushed some Gesso over it with a paint brush just to tone that down a bit and add some texture.

Then I had some fun with the markers.  I love how easily the colors blend!  I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Peaceful Petals stamp set using Memento Black ink.   Then I used the Cherry Cobbler package and the Daffodil Delight package for the flowers, and the Old Olive package for the leaves.  I also used a Cherry Cobbler marker to color the rhinestones.

Well, you’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog to check out her amazing post.  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can go visit Wendy Weixler’s awesome blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all ten posts.

  1. I LOVE the way you did these flowers. ..holy cow they’re stunning!! What do you mean when you refer to the markers as Cherry Cobbler “package”?

  2. Stunning Amy, just stunning! Those flowers are gorgeous in that rich red color! The layers are so pretty and I like how you down played the background to really make the flowers center stage. Great design! I look forward to giving these markers a try.

  3. I really look forward to your Monday Montage. Yours is really inspiring. Every and I mean every time I cannot get Julie’s blog to pull down so I have to go backwards until it comes to her site and I tried to send a note, but even that won’t allow a finished note. Is this a problem for others?
