A Bright Red Sled — Monday Montage #32

Monday Montage Banner -- October

We have another Monday Montage blog hop ready for you.  There are ten of us stampers participating, and all you have to do is click on the links at the bottom of each post to work your way through all ten blogs.  Super Easy!

I received the Watercolor Winter Simply Created Card Kit at Convention this past summer as part of a special class.  It was made even more special because I got to take the class with a few of the Monday Montage ladies.  I remember thinking that the kit was a little overwhelming because there is so much stuff in the kit.

I hadn’t pulled out the kit once since coming home.  But the other day I pulled it out, spread all of the contents out on my table, and was totally inspired to make several cards all at one sitting.  I think once I could actually spread everything out and really take an inventory of all the contents, I wasn’t so intimidated and overwhelmed anymore.

The kit gives you plenty of ideas of cards that have already been made, but I often like to do my own thing, so maybe these projects can give you some extra ideas.

Bokeh SledI absolutely love these die-cut sleds!  They are made from watercolor paper, so they are easy to color them any color you choose.  Being raised in South Texas, there were never any opportunities to go sledding in the winter, but I always wanted one of these red sleds.  They just look so fun!

Bokeh Sled Close UpI made the background by using a sponge dauber and Whisper White Craft ink to make the circles.  The white sequins and gold glittery sentiment come with the kit.  The “holidays” sentiment comes in the Watercolor Winter Too stamp set.

Merry & Bright Sled 2Here’s another red sled.  I guess you could paint them any color, but red just looks so perfect to me.  I added a sheet of vellum over the card base and added a large vellum snowflake, which I covered with Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  I watercolored the sentiment and adhered it and the snowflakes from the Frosted Sequins embellishments.

You’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog now to see her awesome creativity at work.  If you’d rather work your way backwards, you can go visit the super talented Wendy Weixler.  Either way, just be sure to work your way through all ten blogs.
