Jaydee has a great challenge for us over at The Paper Players. And boy, was it ever a challenge for me.
I think I could count on one hand the number of times I have made a one-layer card. 😉 I really had to put some thought into this one. I ended up pulling out my Stippled Blossoms stamp set because the flowers are so beautiful.
I scored two lines on this card, and used a black marker and a ruler to draw the lines over and under the sentiment. I must say that I really enjoyed making this card. I got to do a lot of stamping on it and that was fun.
Go check out what the other designers made for this challenge. I was really impressed with their creations:
Enjoy your Sunday! Thanks for stopping by!

These beautiful one layered cards were “in” when Cheryl got me hooked. So nice to see this art revived. My first thought when we say Stampin’Up is actual stamping. Love your card, Amy!

Gorgeous!
Wow Amy! This is a beautiful card and it’s so hard to believe it’s only one layer. Love the edge of embossing at the bottom and drawing a marker in the lines was a brilliant idea to give it dimension and texture. Great job!
Wow, what a gorgeous one-layer card. Great us of texture at the bottom to add interest!
Thanks, Carol!
Just love this…it’s fun to use lots of color….that’s why we got into stamping in the first place, right? All those COLORS! Your floral masterpiece jumped out at me the moment I saw it! Beautiful!
How right you are, LeAnne! I LOVE my Big Shot and dsp and all of the other fun embellishments, but sometimes it’s good to get back to the basics of stamping.
Simply amazing Amy!

I think this single layer card was a challenge for all of us, but you really aced it! I like the black lines above and below the sentiment, and the embossing at the bottom. Very pretty card!
Great card! Your colors make the flowers pop off of the card! Love!!
Amy, looking at this gorgeous creation, you would never believe that it was a struggle for you. I love how you separated the flowers with the sentiment in the middle. the scored lines with the black marker are perfect for the sentiment. I also love the way you placed the embossing on the bottom, too. Thank you for creating such a stunning card for my challenge

This IS gorgeous, Amy. I love how your use of color really pops and the extra definition with the scored lines and black marker are genius. Perfect stamp choice too–as the two step method adds so much dimension without bulk. I think you ROCKED it!
