It’s sketch day over at Freshly Made Sketches, and the CAS-talented Jen Brum has a fun sketch for us:
I knew right away that I wanted to use the fun images in the Starburst Sayings stamp set. I thought the coordinating Starburst dies would be perfect for the little circles in the sketch.
It seems like whenever I start out with the intention of making a masculine card, I always end up adding some little embellishments that make me feel like I’ve gone a little astray. On this one, I selected some colors that I thought would make a good manly card. And I thought the stamps were okay for a guy card. But then I just had to add some pearls to the centers — I mean, they just needed them! And then the ribbon — not very manly, but the sketch required it. So I compromised, and just tied a knot instead of my usual bow.

I’m always so impressed with everything they make, but this week I am really in awe — such a great variety, and creativity that is just amazing. It still works for manly because it is awesome!! And you really did need the pearls, after all. Perfect stamp set for the sketch!
The starbursts are adorable in the mini size! And a guy probably won’t even notice the pearls 😉 Really cute card!

I love the colors you’ve used on this gorgeous card, which I think is gender-neutral 🙂 I didn’t give the starburst set a second look, but now seeing them used on your card is making me think twice.

This starburst set works perfectly with Cindy’s sketch amy – loving the colours and didn’t notice the pearls until you said they were there.
