When I saw that some new newsprint dsp was being offered in the new catalog, I was so happy!  One of the techniques I love to use with it is painting a layer of gesso over it.  I just use a foam paintbrush and spread a light layer over the paper.  Once it dries (pretty quickly) I can stamp on it, or just leave it plain.  Either way, it adds a cool texture and mutes the dark black type a little.

I used Night of Navy, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, and Old Olive inks for this card.  I also used some little scraps of Flowerpot dsp and Moonlight dsp.
