Coral Blooms

I have never played along with any of the challenges at The Card Concept, and I’ve liked so many of them.  I finally got to join in this week, and I love the colors in the inspiration photo.

Calypso Coral and Pool Party are two of my favorite colors with which to work.  I have to stop myself from using them all of the time.

I pulled out Bloom with Hope, a hostess set, for my card as the flowers in this set resemble those in the inspiration picture.  Plus, I have barely used this set before, so it needed some ink.

I’d say that this card would fit in with the Clean and Layered style.  However, I think it could also be called a Freestyle Collage style.

Coral BloomsI started by selectively inking the Positively Chevron background stamp with some Versamark ink, and then embossed it with clear embossing powder.  Then I punched out a couple of circles from dsp.  I watercolored the focal image with an aquapainter,

  2. Beautiful water colored flowers! Love everything about your card…the wee button with the twine, the bit of newsprint paper, two boldly contrasting DP’s, a wee schmick of lace and the fabulous embossed background chevron image! It totally WORKS!!! So glad you chose to share your talent with us at the Card Concept Challenge 🙂
