Birthday Llama — Monday Montage #73

Monday Montage Banner -- October

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

One of the bundles I was most excited about when I first saw the new annual catalog was the Festive Birthday bundle.  I love all of the banners and the bright colors.  This is a set that is perfect for both male and female cards.

Llama Manana

I started with a Tempting Turquoise card base and stamped the streamers with Tempting Turquoise ink.  I then cut an oval with the Layering Ovals Framelits from the Festive Birthday dsp.  I stamped the llama with Basic Black ink and added some colors with my Stampin’ Write markers onto his blanket.

Llama Manana Close UpWhen I showed this card to my daughter expecting squeals of delight as she likes llamas, she disapproved.  She has taken four years of Spanish in school, and said, “Mom, it’s grammatically incorrect.  ‘Fiesta’ is a noun, and you’ve used it as a verb.”  So there you have it.  I don’t think the recipient I sent this card to will mind (or even know, for that matter).

You’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog.  I always love seeing what she makes!  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can jump back to Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing!

Enjoy your Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!

  1. What a fun card, Amy! You have a great talent in putting the elements of a card together that just works so well. I’m glad to read what your daughter had to say, because I’ve been struggling with the sentiment too! I agree with you that most recipients won’t care when they get their card. I’ve also struggled with having a llama instead of a donkey, but that llama has really grown on me!
