We take turns being the hostess over at the Freshly Made Sketches site, and this week I have the privilege of creating and sharing the sketch for the week. This is what I came up with:
Whenever we go to the pet supply store, my daughters always love to look at the mice, hamsters, and guinea pigs. I have heard so many pleas to buy one for a pet, but I have never given in. I love our dog. I could love a cat (my son is allergic). But a rodent? No way!! They give me the heebie-jeebies! My daughters think they are cute, but in my book the only kind of cute mouse is the animated mouse (like in “Cinderella”) or the cute mice in the Merry Mice stamp set.
This cute little critter was stamped on some Shimmery White card stock and colored with a blender pen and some ink pads — Sweet Sugarplum, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Sky, and Smoky Slate. A little clear Wink of Stella was added on the nose, ornament, and star.

I’m totally with you on the mouse issue!!! I’ve had to admit these SU images are really cute! And so is your card. Great sketch. I’m on the road, hope I can find time to play!
Ditto on the mouse as a pet thing. But, like you, I can embrace a cute mouse image! He’s colored so beautifully and I love the bit of sparkle!
I agree with you on the rodent thing. My oldest had a pet rat once – its tail touched my arm once and that was enough! I never went near it again. But on to more pleasant subjects – your card is adorable and your sketch is one of my favorites – I just love its versatility.

I don’t even like to see a picture of one, but while in college we had to do surgery on a rat and remove it’s adrenal gland. Luckily, I had a good lab partner and he didn’t mind doing most of the work and I just took notes for the report. Your card is cute but then I love all your cards!

This is such a great card Amy! I love that sweet little mouse! You have coloured it so wonderfully! I may need to visit Texas for a course – but I’ll wait until it’s full on winter here!!! Don’t give in to a rodent! Jake wants/wanted guinea pigs until I finally gave into letting him get a kitten! I think guinea pigs are more work than dogs!
LOL – I do think Mice are cute, but I’m soooo impressed that you got over your own prejudice toward them for the sake of your daughter, now thats Mommy Love!!!
