This is one of our “Open” hops, where we can use any of the products in our quarterly box. Now that Halloween is over, I am focused on Thanksgiving. Of the 20 years I’ve been married, I’ve never hosted Thanksgiving or Christmas at our house. We always either travel to my parents or my husband’s parents. Well, this year Thanksgiving is at my house. And I’m a little scared. There will only be 12 of us, but I don’t have many of the serving pieces for a nice dinner. One of the items I don’t have 12 of is napkin rings. So here is what I’ll do instead.
I tucked a napkin and silverware into one of the Kraft Tag a Bag Gift Bags and decorated it with the Basket of Wishes stamp set. The image was colored with a blender pen and ink pads.
I love this sentiment which is included with the stamp set. It is phrased a little differently, but since I wanted to personalize the bags and use them as place cards as well, I selectively inked up the stamp to make the words work for me. I just covered the words I didn’t want to stamp with washi tape and then inked up the stamp on the ink pad. I then removed the washi tape before stamping directly on the bag. Easy!
I hand wrote the names of all our guests on the labels, which were stamped with the Thoughtful Banners stamp set and punched out with the Classic Label punch.

Absolutely charming!!
Congratulations on hosting your first Thanksgiving! I’m sure you’ll do fine and your guests will be wowed with your creative place holders! They are beautiful!
Oh my gosh, my dear Artisan Friend! I couldn’t pass by this without commenting (on my way to your FMS card). Your silverware/napkin holder is so gorgeous and what a nice surprise for your guests. Love every little detail! Your first time as host for Thanksgiving will be AWESOME once you come up with 12 of everything you’re going to need. 🙂 Borrow, don’t buy, whenever possible, because then YOU won’t have to store it until next year.
