Well, we’ve officially reached the end of Summer here in the O’Neill household. We dropped my son off for his first year of college on Sunday and the girls started school this morning. It has been a whirlwind these past couple of weeks! But one thing that helps me keep my sanity is making some time to be creative, and making something with a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches is a great way to do that. This week, our wonderfully kind and creative Canadian friend, Jen Brum, is our hostess. Take a look at this great sketch:
I needed to stock up on some sympathy cards and I hadn’t used the Watercolor Wings stamp set in a while, so I decided to go that route. I love this set and the coordinating dies, and I think they are perfect for almost any kind of card.
I started by sponging the top panel with some Powder Pink and Peekaboo Peach inks. The butterflies were stamped with Daffodil Delight and Crushed Curry inks. Some pretty iridescent sequins and Peekaboo Peach baker’s twine were added as well.
The sentiment from Rose Wonder was embossed with gold embossing powder.
We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch. We love to see what you create! Meanwhile, be sure to hop on over to the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.
Enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!

Lovely card. The soft colors make a beautiful background for the butterflies.
This is so soft and pretty, Amy, and just perfect for a sympathy card. I hope your children are all settling in to a new school year.
I hope that things are calming down a bit for your family!! Getting into the routine, I suspect. This is really lovely. The background is so subtle but so pretty!!
