Let’s Go to the Beach — FMS324

Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!  I hope you all get to eat some chocolate and spend time, whether in person or via technology, with someone you love today.  I also hope you get to spend some time doing what you love today too — like maybe some stamping.  If so, we have a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches that would be a great place to gain some inspiration.  Our good friend from down under, Narelle Farrugia, has a sketch that is sure to inspire you.  Take a look:

I’ve had a stamp set sitting on my shelf for the past month that I hadn’t even opened yet.  I decided it was time to ink it up, and it is so fun!  I stamped several little scenes, that I’ll have to make into other cards in the days to come.  But with the cold weather we’ve been having, I was drawn to scenes of a warm beach.  A girl can dream, right!?!

I started by stamping the images on a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  The images look like they’ve been watercolored, but it’s the stamps that provide this effect.

A little strip of Tutti-Frutti dsp and a piece of washi tape were added for the sketch elements.  This was all layered on a piece of Daffodil Delight card stock, which was stamped with the splatter stamp in the set.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch.  We love to see what you do with it.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site and see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Love this beach scene Amy! Love the colours and those splatters! So fun! We could totally use some beach weather here! It’s been so cold and snowy this winter. I can’t wait for the spring!!!

  2. This card is the best! I love it! Did you use the inks full strength or did you do some stamping off? Thank you for the inspiration!!
