Dino Fun — Monday Montage #147

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I made a care package to send to my son in college last week and needed a card to include in his box.  I struggle with making masculine cards.  He’s not an outdoorsy kind of guy, so those types of cards are out.  He’s not a mechanical kind of guy, so those cards are out.  He’s not really into sports, so those cards are out.  But when he was little, he was really into dinosaurs.  He knew all of the names of dinosaurs that I had a hard time trying to pronounce.  And he could tell you all about them.  So I decided that while he may have outgrown plastic dinosaur toys, he might still appreciate a dinosaur themed card.  And this set is so fun to play with!  I thoroughly enjoyed creating a little scene.

I started this one by sponging on some Sahara sand ink along the bottom third of the card and some Balmy Blue ink along the upper portion of the card.  I then stamped the dinosaur, tree, and sentiment.  I didn’t add any embellishments even though I really wanted to.

Super simple and super fun to make as there was a lot of stamping.  I had forgotten how fun it is to make a card with just ink and paper, as I love using my Big Shot and tend to use it with every card.  It was nice to go back to the basics.

You’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog.  I always love seeing what she makes!  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can jump back to Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing.
