A Fall Wild Rose — Monday Montage #151

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I needed to make a few thank you cards and since it finally feel like Fall here in Texas, I decided to combine the two themes.  I hadn’t used the To a Wild Rose bundle in a while, and I thought I could make some pretty Fall colored flowers with it.  I don’t know if there are really any roses this color, but they would be pretty.

I used a color combo of Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie for the flower.  The leaves were made using Mossy Meadow and Old Olive inks.  The coordinating dies make it easy to cut them out.

These stamps use three different layers for the flower and three other for the leaves.  But they are so easy to line up and add such fabulous shading to the images.

The sentiment is from an old Paper Pumpkin set.  The little embellishments were made by coloring some Frosted Epoxy Droplets with an alcohol marker.  I love how you can easily make custom colored accents this way.

Some family commitments and poor planning on my part caused me to miss out on the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches this week.  So here is my card using the following sketch a little late:

I was also inspired by the challenge at The Paper Players this week.  Their theme is Into the Woods, and I chose my dsp background with this theme in mind.

You’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog.  I always love seeing what she makes!  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can jump back to Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing.

  1. Amy your rustic rose is very pretty and just the right shade to compliment your wood panel. Beautifully clean and simple and perfect for our theme. Thanks for sharing with us over at The Paper Players this week!

  2. Beautiful, Amy! The Cajun Craze and Pumpkin Pie flower just “pops” against the wood. Thank you for playing with The Paper Players!
