Tropical Relaxation — FMS424

It’s another Wednesday and that means we have a new sketch for you at Freshly Made Sketches.  Our hostess and sketch designer is our talented Canadian friend, Jen Brum.  Take a look at this fun sketch:

This is the time of year where I start to long for sunshine and warmer days.  I decided to use the new Tropical Oasis suite of products to indulge my longing.  At least I can imagine I’m at a tropical resort lounging in the sunshine.

I started by stamping the hibiscus bloom with Mango Melody ink and lightly coloring it in with the same ink using a blender pen.  I added a little bit of Poppy Parade ink with the blender pend around the center of the flower.  The leaves were stamped with Old Olive ink and colored the same way.

I used two different sheets of the Tropical Oasis dsp collection on the card and embossed the sentiment with black embossing powder.  Some rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels packet were also used as embellishments.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch!  We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

  1. This is such a great card Amy! I can almost picture myself sitting on a beach instead of in a snowstorm!! Love that big, bright flower and the sweet, little rhinestones! So pretty!

  2. Yep a beach day sounds might fine right about now! That DSP is perfect behind your gorgeous flower! Beautiful card!
