Halloween Mish Mash — FMS457

With another new Wednesday comes another new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. And this week our hostess is our favorite up-state New Yorker, Linda Callahan. Take a look at this sketch with its fun layers:

I needed to make another Halloween themed card for one of my college students’ care packages and I had a variety of different Halloween themed elements on my workspace. So I did the lazy thing and decided to see what I could make out of what I already had on hand.

I started this one with the cat die-cut which came from a Paper Pumpkin kit. I just added the little rhinestone collar, which I colored with a marker. The bats were leftover from a previous card and were made with the Turnovers stamp set. I blended some inks to make the focal panel and layered that on a sheet of dsp from the Magic in this Night dsp collection. That was placed on a sheet of Basic Gray card stock that was embossed using the Cobwebs 3D Embossing Folder.

I added a sentiment from the Hallows Night Magic stamp set and a little strip of ribbon.

We hope you’ll join us and make your own card using the sketch! We love to see what you create as we browse the gallery each week. Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. One of my favorites this week! The colors, the texture, and those cute bats looking like they’re scaring the cat. Or maybe the other way around ha! I LOVE this.

  2. Emma and I love to make cards from the leftover pieces on my desk – some are definitely out there! Yours however came together perfectly! I love those bats! Great Halloween card!

  3. Fun card. I like the various mishmash of elements. The jewels on the cat are a nice touch as well as the spiderweb embossed background.
