Pierced Positive Thoughts — Monday Montage #184

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

Now that we have thawed out and the snow is almost all gone, I’m starting to think about Spring. This past week was beyond crazy here in Texas! I thought the longest week ever occurred last month when my husband had Covid and our dog got suddenly sick and I had to put her to sleep. But then last week we experienced rolling blackouts and water shortages during the most frigid spell here I have ever experienced. We were in a cycle of having power for about 30 minutes and then the power would go out for about an hour. Then repeat… And repeat… For 3 long days. The temperature in our house hovered in the low 50s. We have a gas fireplace, and we moved some of our furniture directly in front of it so we could keep warm. When the power would come on we’d run to cook something quickly and charge our devices. We were very fortunate in that none of our pipes burst, and we never lost our water supply nor had to boil our water. My heart goes out to the many families that will be dealing with the clean-up from this disaster for a long time.

While all of this was going on here, my mother-in-law was in the hospital awaiting surgery about an hour and a half away. We couldn’t go visit her because of Covid restrictions and with all of the ice and snow on the roads, we wouldn’t have been able to anyway. I wanted to make her a sunny card to let her know we’ve been thinking of her. I pulled out the Pierced Blooms dies and got to work with my Big Shot.

A piece of dsp from the Paper Blooms collection was adhered to the side of the card base. The sentiment is from the Positive Thoughts stamp set.

You’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog.  I always love seeing what she makes!  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can jump back to Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing.

  1. Love this Amy – such a beautiful colour combo and I love the addition of the green paper border beneath. I’m sure your MIL will be cheered to receive it!
