Flowers of Friendship Hey — FMS486

We have a new sketch for you over at Freshly Made Sketches courtesy of our hostess, the amazingly talented Jacquie Southas. Take a look at this fun sketch:

When I saw this sketch, I immediately knew I would be using a die from a new set called Basic Borders. This collection has fun dies to create cute edges for your cards.

I started by cutting a piece of dsp from the Pattern Party collection, which is a hostess benefit option, using one of the dies mentioned above. I then stamped several of the flowers and leaves from the Flowers of Friendship stamp set and colored them with alcohol markers before punching them out with the coordinating punch.

After arranging and adhering all of the flowers and leaves, I stamped a sentiment. And I didn’t like it. But I’d already adhered everything! And I wasn’t starting over! So, I decided to just cover up the sentiment. Which meant I then proceeded to spend more time trying to figure out how to best do that than I did in making the rest of the card. My Goodness!! I finally settled on cutting out a cute scalloped rectangle from the Scalloped Contours Dies and using a different sentiment from the In Symmetry stamp set.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! And I hope you have an easier time than I did! We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week. Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Your flowers along the curve are as sweet as can be! I may need that set! And you don’t want to know how many times I have covered up a sentiment on a card to use for a different occasion!

  2. This is such a beautiful card Amy! Those flowers are just fabulous! I think that set will be going on my wish list as well! Love the colours! I’m glad I’m not the only one who stamps something and then changes their mind about it!
