It’s time for another new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess is our favorite French stamper extraordinaire, Cecile Ribon. Take a look at this fun sketch, which is very Cecile-like:

A teenager in our small group from church recently lost a sibling, and I wanted to send him a sympathy card. Masculine cards are always hard for me, but make it a teenaged masculine card AND a sympathy card — whoa!! That’s a tough one. I decided something nature themed would be good, so I went that direction. I’m not sure that what I ended up is really right for a teenaged boy, but it’s what is written inside that is really important and what will be remembered, I hope.
I started this card by cutting out three squares from different patterns in the Harvest Meadow dsp collection. I then stamped the pine cone and greenery from the Christmas Season stamp set and cut them out with the coordinating dies. They were all arranged on a piece of Sahara Sand card stock that was cut with one of the Rectangle Stitched dies.
I added some linen thread and Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots as embellishments, and kept it pretty simple.
We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week. Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has made for your inspiration.
Enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!
