A Mother’s Day Gift Set — Stampin’ Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Welcome to another Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop!  There are 20 of us from around the globe who will be sharing our projects with you twice each month.  All you need to do to follow along is click on the link at the bottom of each post.

I don’t know about you, but I find the last two months of the school year to be the busiest. With three kids there is always something going on, but during April and May it seems like our calendar gets even more crowded with events and things to do.  If I can get some things done ahead of time, I know I’ll appreciate it later.  So please bear with me as I show you a Mother’s Day project now even though that occasion isn’t for a few more weeks.  Don’t panic — you still have plenty of time to make your own Mother’s Day gifts!

Mother's Day Set GroupI prepared a little gift box using one of the Takeout Boxes and decorating it for the occasion.  A little 3-1/2″ square note card will be perfect to tuck in with it.  Both items feature the Circle of Spring stamp set and coordinating Wonderful Wreath Framelits Dies, as well as the Bow Builder punch.

The Takeout Boxes are so easy to fold up and decorate.  I made a belly band to wrap around the gift, which is easy to slide on and off without messing anything up.  I started with a strip of Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper and wrapped some of the beautiful Watermelon Wonder 1″ Stitched Satin Ribbon and Basic Black Baker’s Twine around it.  A Tea Lace Paper Doily was placed on top with the wreath and bow.

Mother's Day Set BoxI used a color scheme of Watermelon Wonder, Daffodil Delight, and Old Olive inks, which were applied with a Blender Pen.  The bow, made with the Bow Builder Punch, dresses it all up a little bit.

The notecard is a copy of the wreath on the box, all the way down to the bow.  I made the card base with the Kraft Cardstock — love this stuff!  It matches the box really well.  Some little Pearl Basic Jewels are added around the wreath.

Matchbook Treats — Stampin’ Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Welcome to another Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop!  There are 20 of us from around the globe who will be sharing our projects with you twice each month.  All you need to do to follow along is click on the link at the bottom of each post.

For this blog hop, we were asked to focus our projects on the Shine On Designer Series Paper.  I love this paper because it has the same thickness as card stock, and has cool silver foil designs on one side and bright, fun colored patterns on the other side.

My daughters’ school had a teacher appreciation day last month, and I like to make little treats to give to all of their teachers.  They have a lot of teachers between the two of them, so I wanted to make something cute but easy and quick.  I hadn’t made little matchbook treats in a long time, so I decided that would be perfect for what I needed.

Matchbook treatsI cut the Shine On dsp to a size of 2-1/2″ x 6″ for each treat, and scored at the 1/2″, 3-1/4″, and 3-1/2″ marks.  This was based on the size of the treats I wanted to include.  I put a small sized York Peppermint Patty in each matchbook, securing them with a staple, which also helps with the closure of the matchbook.  You can easily adjust the size of these matchbooks based on the size of your treats.

Matchbook treats close up inside On the outside cover, I cut some Silver Glimmer Paper stars with the Stars Framelits Dies.  I added a Cucumber Crush banner punched with the Banner punch, some Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim, and a Silver Basic Metal Button threaded with White Baker’s Twine.

The “You’re the Best” sentiment was stamped with Watermelon Wonder ink using a stamp from Sunburst Sayings.  All of this was placed on some loops of Silver Metallic Thread.

Matchbook treats close up outsideEven though this is just a little piece of candy, it’s fun to dress it up.  I think this shows the recipient they are special and loved.  At least that’s what was intended.  Teachers deserve lots of love!  And something sweet!

Vacation Memories — Stampin’ Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Welcome to another Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop!  There are 20 of us from around the globe who will be sharing our projects with you twice each month.  All you need to do to follow along is click on the link at the bottom of each post.

For this blog hop, we are focusing our projects on scrapbooking in honor of International Scrapbooking Day on March 4.  I’m really glad we were given this theme for this hop because we went on a family vacation last August and I had the best intentions of making a scrapbook of our memories, and here it is March and I hadn’t even started.  Project Life to the rescue!

We journeyed 2700 miles round-trip to Washington, D.C. in a car with three kids last summer.  I have two teenagers and a preteen, so they were able to entertain themselves during the ride, and the scenery was new to us, having never been to this part of the country.  We did most of the typical Washington, D.C. things while we were there, and we had a great time together as a family.  It was a fun trip!

I chose the Let’s Get Away Project Life Card Collection and Accessory Pack for my album.  It is perfect to document a road trip.  I chose to use the 6″ x 8″ pocket pages because they are small enough to be able to get pages done fairly quickly and since this album will just be for this one trip, it didn’t need to be very big.  I’m still working on some of the pages and since there are 20 of us in this hop, I’ll show you my cover page and a couple of my other layouts.

DC Cover PageThis is the first page in the album.  I love traditional scrapbooking, but I don’t do it very often because it is time-consuming for me.  So for this vacation album, I decided to make the cover page a traditional scrapbook page — no pockets.  The rest of the pages use the Project Life Photo Pocket Pages so that I can make quick pages and get this album finished before we take another vacation.  🙂

I started with a 6″ x 8″ piece of Whisper White card stock.  I cut out part of a map of Washington, D.C. that we used on our trip and laid that down as dsp.  And then I layered little mementos from our trip over the map — ticket stubs, Metro card, etc… and secured some with washi tape from the Let’s Get Away Accessory Pack.

I stamped some little grunge-y elements from the Timeless textures stamp set onto a couple of the corners for some added fun elements.

DC Cover Page Close UpI made the title for the scrapbook with a 3″ x 4″ Grid Card and the alphabet stickers from the accessory pack.  The cute car sticker came from the pack too.  The date and row of dots were stamped with Memento Black ink and Crushed Curry ink using stamps from the Project Life Day to Day stamp set.  I laid one of the acetate photo filter frames from the accessory pack over the card and attached it with staples.  I love the fun and subtle touches of color it adds to the card.

DC Capitol PageThis is a typical spread in the album.  I sorted our photos by the days of our trip.  On the first day we went to the Capitol and some of the other places on Capitol Hill.  You can get a closer view by clicking directly on the picture.

I attached a couple of the mementos from the day on one of the Let’s Get Away cards and stamped some more of the Timeless Textures stamps directly on the card.  I usually use my own handwriting to journal on the cards, but because I wanted to fit a description of all of our day’s activities onto this one card, I printed it on my computer printer instead.  It is on a grid card, stamped with a Timeless Textures stamp as well.  This stamp set is a perfect accessory for this Project Life kit.

DC Monuments PageMore of the same here.  Just slide the pictures into the pockets, add a journaling card and done!  This spread is of our first night in D.C. — a walking/bus tour of many of the famous monuments after dark.

So do you use Project Life?  Or do you prefer tradtional scrapbooking?  I really love that I can use a mixture of both in the same album.

Easter Lamb Gift Set — Stampin’ Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Welcome to another Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop!  There are 20 of us from around the globe who will be sharing our projects with you twice each month.  All you need to do to follow along is click on the link at the bottom of each post.

For this blog hop we were asked to focus our projects on either the Easter Lamb stamp or the Birthday Blooms stamp set.  I decided to use the Easter Lamb stamp because I think this little sweetie is so cute.  I made a little treat sack and matching card.

Easter Sheep SetI started with the tag on the gift sack.  The sack is one of the Sketched Dots Tag a Bag Gift Bags.  I cut a little along the side seams and folded down the front flap.  I love the subtle dots on this bag, and thought they were a little like Easter eggs and mirrored the dots that make up the cute lamb’s wool.

Easter Sheep Gift Bag

I used the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to add a little texture to the tag, as well as some fun embellishments.

The lamb was stamped on Shimmery White Cardstock and colored with an Aqua Painter.  I used Old Olive, Pool Party, and Blushing Bride for the colors.

Easter Sheep Gift Bag Close UpAfter making the tag, I made a matching card.  I used the exact same supplies, but added a couple of extra embellishments.

Easter Card Sheep FinalI used this stamp to make an Easter ensemble, but I think it would also be cute for a baby shower gift or a baby’s birthday.

Love You Birthday Blooms — Stampin’ Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Welcome to another Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop!  There are 20 of us from around the globe who will be sharing our projects with you twice each month.  All you need to do to follow along is click on the link at the bottom of each post.

With Valentine’s Day being less than two weeks away, I’ve been focusing on cards and gifts for this occasion.  I wanted to make something pretty and feminine for my mother-in-law, so I pulled out my Birthday Blooms stamp set and made a square card, just to be a little different.

Love You Birthday BloomsI colored the image with an aquapainter and Watermelon Wonder and Old Olive inks.  I used the gold Wink of Stella  Glitter Brush for the center of the flower to add some fun shimmer.  After I hand cut the flower, I placed it on top of a die-cut heart using the Bloomin’ Heart Thinlits Die.

These layers were placed on top of a layer of the Fancy Foil designer vellum paper.  I attached some Gold 1/8″ Ribbon and Gold Sequin trip with a Bow Paper Clip Embellishment.

The sentiment was stamped on Basic Black card stock with Versamark ink and embossed with white Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  It comes from the Bloomin’ Love stamp set.

Love Blossoms — Stampin’ Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Welcome to another Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop!  There are 20 of us from around the globe who will be sharing our projects with you twice each month.  All you need to do to follow along is click on the link at the bottom of each post.

For this blog hop, we were asked to focus our projects on the Love Blossoms Designer Series Paper Stack.  I decided to make a little treat bag and coordinating card using this paper and the Picture Perfect stamp set.

Love Blossoms Focus -- GroupI used the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits die to cut out the bag.  I love how the paper is double sided, so you can see little peeks of the other pattern on the inside of the bag.

Love Blossoms Bag

I cut out some banners and layered those together.  Then I stamped the flowers and cut them out by hand layering them on the banners.  These flowers are three-step stamping and were created using Blushing Bride and Rose Red inks for the flowers and Garden Green and Pear Pizzazz for the leaves.

Love Blossoms Bag Close Up

I also used the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit for some of the fun accessories on this bag.  See the little string of pearls, the sequins and bows — all from the kit.  I also added some gold spatters using the Wink of Stella Glitter Brush.

I wanted to make a card to go with this little gift.  Because there are so many coordinating papers in this designer series paper stack, it was easy to make a card that coordinates without exactly matching.

Love Blossoms CardI started by adhering the dsp to the card base and then layering a piece of vellum card stock on stop of it.  The flowers were made the same way as those on the gift bag.  I just added some Gold Metallic Thread under the flowers on the card.

Balloon Congrats — Stampin’ Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Welcome to another Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop!  There are 20 of us from around the globe who will be sharing our projects with you twice each month.  All you need to do to follow along is click on the link at the bottom of each post.

It is only one week away until the Occasions catalog is live, and it will mark the start of the biggest annual event at Stampin’ Up!  — Sale-a-Bration!  We all love Sale-a-Bration!  With each $50 (US) purchase, you can get a Sale-a-Bration product for free.  Woohoo!

There is a fun new set in the Occasions catalog called Balloon Celebration, and it has a coordinating punch.  I love how punches can make projects so much quicker and easier.

Balloon Congrats

I started with a Pool Party card base.  A piece of Watercolor Paper was washed with some Pool Party ink and water.  Once that dried, I hand drew the strings with a Project Life Journaling Pen, and stamped the bitty stars with So Saffron ink, which I then covered with a Wink of Stella Gold Glitter Brush.  It adds a fun touch of shimmer.  I also applied some of this magical stuff to the wood sentiment.

Balloon Congrats Close Up

I created the balloons by first stamping off some Pool Party, Blushing Bride, Watermelon Wonder and Mossy Meadow ink once or twice onto some Whisper White card stock.  I love how there are two sizes of balloons with this stamp set and punch.

The cute little gold bow is actually a paper clip, and will also be available next week in the Occasions catalog.

All of these products will be available starting January 5.

Christmas Camper — Stampin’ Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Welcome to our first Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop!  There are 20 of us from around the globe who will be sharing our projects with you twice each month.  For this post we are each sharing a project with you and a little bit about ourselves so you can get to know all of the team.  So for those of you who already know me, you can skip on down to the project.  🙂

I live in the Dallas area in Texas.  My very supportive husband and I have been married for 20 years (we just celebrated that anniversary this month), and have three children — ages 16, 14, and 11.  Before I had kids, I was a CPA but am now a stay-at-home mom.  I have been a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator for over seven years.  I fell in love with the products the first time I got to play with them.  I love how they all coordinate and are of such great quality.  I love being a demonstrator because it such a joy to see someone who “isn’t creative” make a beautiful card and discover that we can all truly be creative (especially with the right supplies).  🙂

I am so excited to be on this team!  It is really a dream come true, and I am looking forward to getting to know the other team members and to grow creatively.  After having applied to be on this team several times over the years, I am still quite shocked to actually be on it.

Hopefully, you aren’t tired of Christmas cards yet.  For my project today, I used a stamp set from the Annual Catalog and a couple of dies from the Holiday catalog.

Christmas CampingI started by sponging on some Soft Sky ink onto some Thick Whisper White Cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment from Holly Jolly Greetings with Basic Black ink.

The cute camper from the You’re Sublime stamp set was stamped with Jet Black Staz-On ink onto Watercolor Paper.  I watercolored it with Real Red, So Saffron, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray and Mossy Meadow inks using an aquapainter.

I used the Perfect Pines Framelits Dies to cut out the tree and a Christmas Greetings Thinlits die to cut out the sentiment from a Silver Foil sheet.

Christmas Camping Close UpI added a few embellishments here and there, but kept it pretty clean, which is typically more my true style.
