Bovine Cuteness — Monday Montage #143

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

One of the cutest new sets in the catalog is the Over the Moon stamp set.  All of the images make me smile.

I colored this cute cow with markers.  I layered it up with a sheet of dsp from Bird Ballad dsp and two sheets of card stock.  I added some “cow spots” with a marker on a piece of Granny Apple Green card stock to add some pattern to the card.

I’m a Sucker for Flowers — Monday Montage #142

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

My upline held a stampin’ bingo event yesterday and I was able to go to this one.  They are always such fun events.  I was the lucky winner of one game and received the Floral Essence bundle.  I love sets that coordinate with a punch, so I knew this one would be fun to play with.

I started by stamping the flowers with Versamark ink and adding white embossing powder.  I punched them out and added these fun fuzzy centers that remind me of fuzzy caterpillars.  The flowers were placed on a piece of card stock on which I sponged some Seaside Spray ink.

The sentiment is from the Band Together stamp set.

I’ve been struggling a bit with creativity lately, so I turned to one of my favorite challenge sites, The Paper Players.  They have a tic-tac-toe challenge this week, and it helped me to focus on what to include in my card.  I went with the “punched shapes, yellow, and pearls” line.

Sweet Birds — Monday Montage #139

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I recently pre-ordered just a few things from the new catalog which will be released in two short weeks.  One of my favorite bundles in the new catalog is the Bird Ballad suite.  I think the birds in this suite are perfectly sweet!  (Sorry, I couldn’t help myself).

I colored the birds with markers and cut them out with a Stitched Nested Labels Die.  This set of dies will be included in the Free as a Bird bundle.  I added some Braided Linen Trim, some Share What You Love Artisan Pearls, and Gingham Gala sequins.

Farewell to Jar of Love — Monday Montage #138

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I sat down today and pulled out all of my stamp sets that will be retiring at the end of the month.  Let’s just say I now have a lot of room for new ones!  This process always makes me a little nostalgic for some of these sets which haven’t seen love in a while but still bring a smile to my face.  One of the sets that really struck me today was the Jar of Love set.  I think it’s so fun to make bouquets with this pretty set.

I started this one by stamping some of the flowers using Mango Melody and Calypso Coral inks.  The leaves were stamped with Lemon Lime Twist and Granny Apple Green inks.

The sentiment is from a Paper Pumpkin stamp set.  My daughter will start taking her IB exams this week, and I want to give her little notes of encouragement in her lunches.  It is such a stressful time.  I know she is prepared and will do well though.

Mother’s Day Pumpkin — Monday Montage #137

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

Do you subscribe to Paper Pumpkin?  They are kits of paper crafting goodies that include all you need to create a fabulous project each month.  Most of the time, they include a stamp set that you can continue to use even after you’ve made all of the projects in the kit.  The April box included a gorgeous stamp set that includes Distinktive images and some great sentiments.  I decided to make a Mother’s Day card with the stamp set , so I pulled it out of the box and used some of my other supplies to make this card.

I started with a piece of watercolor paper and applied a watercolor wash of Balmy Blue ink.  The flowers were stamped with Powder Pink ink and the leaves with Pear Pizzazz ink.

I die-cut the trellis in the background from vellum paper and applied it to the watercolor paper once it dried.  This die and the label for the sentiment are from the Rose Trellis Thinlits dies.  I added a few sequins from the Gingham Gala Adhesive-Backed Sequins pack, and some Silver Baker’s Twine.

Butterfly Wishes — Monday Montage #135

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

My daughter has a friend who suffers from severe scoliosis.  She recently had spinal fusion surgery to correct the condition, and is now going through the difficult recovery period.  Her mother told me she is now two inches taller after the surgery.  We wanted to send her a card to let her know we are thinking of her and praying for a quick recovery.

I started with a piece of the Botanical Butterfly dsp, which is one of the Sale-a-Bration offerings.  The three butterflies are from other sheets of this dsp package.  I cut the larger one out with my paper snips and punched the smaller two out with the Butterfly Duet Punch.  The sentiment is from the Humming Along stamp set.

I stamped a couple of butterflies from the Butterfly Gala stamp set on the envelope and colored them with colored pencils and a blender pen.  I always love matching the envelope to the card when I have the time.

Butterfly Gala Thanks — Monday Montage #134

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

Spring Break is just one week away here, and it feels nothing like Spring.  So I pulled out some Spring-themed products and pretended. I love the Sale-a-Bration dsp offering and I love how it has butterflies that are beautifully colored and butterflies that are waiting to be colored.  For this card, I chose one that was already colored and used my paper snips to cut it out.

Some wooden Butterfly Elements were added under the butterfly’s wings, and two other patterns from the dsp pack were attached to the card base.  Some Sale-a-Bration ribbon was used as an additional embellishment.  The sentiment is from the Butterfly Gala stamp set.

A New Season — Monday Montage #133

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

There are some new Sale-a-Bration offerings and one caught my eye right away.  It’s the Painted Seasons bundle.  I think it was really the coordinating dsp that truly caught my eye first (it’s lovely!), but the stamp set is beautiful too.  Plus, there are coordinating framelits that you can buy as well.

I started this card by stamping this pretty flower image with some Mango Melody ink three times, twice using the stamping-off technique.  I stamped the leaves with Old Olive ink and cut them all out.  The sentiment is from the Humming Along stamp set and was cut out using a die from the Rose Trellis Thinlits dies.

I placed the floral arrangement on a piece of the Painted Season dsp and added a few pearls for embellishment.  This bundle — the stamp set and dsp together are offered as a free Sale-a-Bration offering — is only available for the rest of the Sale-a-Bration period, which ends March 31 so you only have a few weeks left to get it.

A Piece of Cake for a Valentine Birthday — Monday Montage #132

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.  We have a couple of new stampers that are joining our group, so make sure you don’t miss them in the hop.

My middle child has a Valentine’s Day birthday.  When she was little all of her birthday parties had a heart theme, and life was so easy.  Then as she got to the pre-teen years, the heart theme lost its luster for her and she wanted separation from Valentine’s Day for her birthday.  Understandable.  However, for me, Valentine’s Day and her birthday will forever be linked.  This year she is turning 18 and will be graduating from high school, and she has started to embrace the connection of Valentine’s Day and her birthday again.  Yea!  So I am totally taking advantage of that with her card this year.

My daughter’s favorite kind of cake is strawberry cake (which fits the Valentine’s theme pretty well, doesn’t it?), so that is what I make every year.  When I used the new Piece of Cake stamp set, I knew I had to make the cake a strawberry cake.  I colored it with markers and added some Wink of Stella to the icing to add a touch of sparkle.

I added some Heart Epoxy Droplets and a pretty scalloped heart cut from white card stock using the Be Mine Stitched Framelits dies.  A frame cut from Gray Granite card stock was made using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits dies.

Home to Roost — Monday Montage #131

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of nine stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

Not that I have an affinity for roosters, but I was drawn to the Home to Roost stamp set in the Sale-a-Bration catalog because I knew it would be fun to color.  My grandparents had a farm in Kansas and I would spend my summers there as a child.  I learned quickly to keep my distance from the rooster.

Sure enough, this is a fun image to color.  I started by sponging on some Balmy Blue and Crumb Cake ink on a piece of whisper white card stock.  I then stamped the grass image a couple of times over it with some stamped-off Old Olive ink, and cut out a circle using the Stitched Shapes Framelits dies.

The rooster was stamped and colored with markers, and cut out by hand.  The sentiment comes from the Well Said bundle.  The embossed background was made with the Corrugated embossing folder.
