A Bloom with Burplap — PP141

The most talented Anne Marie has a pretty color challenge for us at the Paper Players today.

I must say that I was saddened to hear that Baja Breeze will be retiring in just a few more weeks.  I love that color!

Razzleberry Bloom

I pulled out a couple of products I hadn’t used in a while for this card — the Mixed Bunch stamp set and the Alhambra wheel.  Notice I didn’t use the This and That Epic Day dsp?  See, I do have some self-control.  🙂

Please join us in the challenge at the Paper Players.  Meanwhile, go check out what the other designers made with these fab colors:

I’ll bet you’re not surprised to see another card using the This and That Epic Day dsp.  You’re probably not surprised to see that I used the Color Spritzer tool again either.  I’m getting too predictable.  I’ll have to work on that this next week.

Fun Flowers Thanks — FabFri16

It’s time for another Fab Friday challenge.  This week we have a color challenge for you, and I love these colors together:

I continued my use of the This and That Epic Day dsp — I’m addicted, remember.  I even used it for another card tomorrow, so I hope you’re not sick of it.  Don’t worry, I recognize I have a problem and I will force myself to put it away and not use it next week (at least not most days).

Fun Flowers Thanks

I pulled out my Fun Flowers Bigz die, which I hadn’t used in a long time, and embossed the flowers with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder and spritzed them with Crumb Cake ink.  I think I’m getting addicted to that Color Spritzer tool, too.  🙂  Uh-oh!

Enjoy your Friday and stop by the Fab Friday Challenge blog to see what the other designers made.

Pop-Up Posies Meets Epic Day — FMS81

It’s already another Wednesday, and that means it’s time for another challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week the fabulous Cindy Hall has this sketch for us:

Since I am currently addicted to the This and That Epic Day dsp, I immediately reached for it (it’s never far away :)).  I hadn’t used any of the Pop-Up Posies products in a while and they go so well with the Epic Day papers, so I pulled that out too.  And here’s what I made:

A Ruler Pun (It’s Bad)

You Rule and a RulerSorry for the bad pun on this card — I just couldn’t help myself.  I also couldn’t help using the This and That Epic Day dsp again.  I think I have an addiction issue.  🙂

My daughter went to a masquerade dance at school last month, and we made her mask.  It had to match her dress, of course.  I still had some of the leftover sequins sitting on my desk, and I’ve seen sequins being used in the paper crafting industry lately, so I thought I’d put some on this card to add a little extra bling.  I put little rhinestones in the centers to cover up the holes.

Enjoy your Tuesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Recycled Butterfly

Today at the Paper Players Nance Leedy has a fun theme challenge for us:

I took a piece of the cardboard box from my last Stampin’ Up! order and ran it through my Big Shot with the Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die.  I then peeled off the top layer of the cardboard to expose the ridges in the middle, and painted it with some white acrylic paint and then sprinkled on some Silver Glass Stampin’ Glitter.  I dyed a flower from the 5/8″ Flower Trim with some Pink Pirouette ink and adhered it to the center of the butterfly.

Recycled Butterfly

Here’s a test for you to see how observant you are.  I made a careless mistake on this card.  Can you figure out what I did wrong?  I didn’t even notice it until I was photographing the card.  You get a star for the day if you guessed that the text on the background dsp is upside down.  Ugggh!  I hate it when I do things like that, and unfortunately it isn’t a rare occurrence.  I’d already spent too much time on this card, and couldn’t face redoing it, so it is what is.

I hope you can join us in the challenge this week at the Paper Players.  I’d love to see what you recycle.  Want to see what the rest of the design team did?  You can check them out here:

Amazing Mother

Amzaing Mother

We’re doing a shoebox swap at a team meeting today, and this is the card I made for it.  It’s good to have a Mother’s Day card ready to go.  Now, if I can just remember to get it in the mail at the right time.  🙂

I was inspired by this card made by the very talented Mercedes Weber.  I made quite a few changes to it, but it was definitely my starting point and inspiration.

Pretty Blossoms in Red and Orange

Pretty Blooms in Red and Orange

I really love the flowers and stem of leaves in the Secret Garden stamp set.  And the coordinating framelits makes it so easy to layer them all.  This was a very simple card to make.  I embossed the Woodgrain stamp with clear embossing powder.  I love the subtle effect of that, plus it adds some fun texture.

Enjoy your Friday!  Thanks for stopping by!
