A Vintage Bicycle Celebration — PP130

It’s Sunday, and that means it’s time for another challenge from the Paper Players.  LeAnne has a great sketch for us this week.

I love this sketch because you could keep it clean and simple or you could add layers and embellishments and knock yourself out.  I kinda went with the first option this time — pretty simple.

Vintage Bicycle Celebration

I used the Feeling Sentimental stamp set, which is one of the Sale-a-Bration offerings.  I really love all of the stamps in this set.  I also used some Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz on the houndstooth base.  I hadn’t pulled that out in a while, and I’m not sure why.  It adds such a pretty shimmer to a project.

I hope you enjoy your Sunday, and that you can find some time to join us at the Paper Players this week.  Here are links to the other designers so you can see what they did with the sketch and get some inspiration:

Latte Love Occasion

Here’s a simple card using one of the Sale-a-Bration stamp sets, Patterned Occasions.  I used the sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches site.  I love how clean and simple it is, so I decided to just really stick to the sketch (well, as much as I can anyways :)).

I love the color scheme in the Sale-a-Bration Sycamore Street designer series paper — Island Indigo, Pool Party, Rich Razzleberry, Summer Starfruit, and Tangerine Tango.  They are bright and fun colors.

A Clustered Valentine

Doily Lacy Valentine

I’ve got another Valentine’s card for you today.    I used some of the Core-dinations cards stock on this one.  It’s my first time to try it out.   I decided I really like it for two reasons.  The first is that its texture on one side reminds me of the textured card stock Stampin’ Up used to offer (I miss that stuff!).  The other reason is that when you sand an embossed image, it really shows up.  Very fun!

I clustered some of my favorite elements on this one — I adore the scalloped heart in the Hearts a Flutter stamp set, the flower trim, pearls, and tickets.  Here’s a closer look:

You Rule!

You Rule!

Now that I’ve made this card, I’m not exactly sure of an occasion for which I’d use it, but I like it.  🙂  I started out with a specific occasion in mind — a birthday for a friend, but I thought it was turning out a little more masculine than I had envisioned, so I changed my plan midway through.   Hmmm…  Any ideas?

Have a great Thursday!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Valentine Treat

Valentine treat

Here’s a simple little treat that would make your Valentine quite happy — who wouldn’t love to get some chocolate?  And when it’s wrapped in a pretty little package, it tastes even better, right?  🙂

To make the topper, I just cut a piece of Pool Party card stock with one of the Labels Collection framelits, and then ran it through the Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I then folded it in half and added a couple of embellishments.

Enjoy your Wednesday, and may it include a little chocolate treat!  Thanks for stopping by!

Jar of Hearts

Jar of Hearts

I never got tired of the Perfectly Preserved set in the Fall catalog.  Fortunately, Stampin’ Up carried it over into the Spring catalog (see page 36 in the Spring catalog for products carried over).  I have seen some other cards on Pinterest that use this same theme and decided to make one for myself.  Karen Giron’s card really caught my eye, so I decided to make it using Stampin’ Up products.

I have to say that while making this card, I kept humming Christina Perry’s song, “Jar of Hearts,” and now it’s stuck in my head again as I type this post.  🙂

Enjoy your Tuesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

It’s Almost Time to Sale-a-Brate!

Sentimental Ferris Wheel

It starts tomorrow!  The biggest event of Stampin’ Up’s year — Sale-a-Bration!  For every $50 you spend on Stampin’ Up! products, you can select a free item from the Sale-a-Bration offerings.  The stamp set on this card is one of the Sale-a-Bration offerings this year.  It is part of the Feeling Sentimental stamp set.  You can see another image from this set on another card I made here.

I love Jaydee’s sketch at the Paper Players so much, that I had to make another card with it.  Come and play along with us this week.

I used a sponge dauber on the ferris wheel image.  I just dabbed my sponge dauber directly on the ink pad and then dabbed the stamp.

Enjoy your Monday!  Thanks for stopping  by!

Pop-Up Posies CAS card–PP129

It’s Sunday, and that means it’s time for another challenge at the Paper Players.  Our challenge this week is a sketch challenge from Jaydee, and it’s one for all of us CAS (clean and simple) fans:

I am really loving the new Pop-Up Posies Designer Kits in the new Spring catalog.  All of the work is done for you — no punching or die-cutting out of flowers, and it comes with these adorable Crumb Cake labels that are already embossed for you.  Plus it comes with some beautiful fabric covered brads.  It also comes with its own stamp set, but I didn’t use that on this card.

Pop-Up Posie -- PP128

The color combination in this kit is Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Summer Starfruit and Crumb Cake, and I have to say I am loving it!  It is so spring-like and cheery!

Here’s a closer look at the flower and brad:

A Bright Secret Garden

A Bright Secret GardenIt is fun using bright colors in the middle of winter.  I’ve used a lot of yellow on this card, and I don’t usually use this color very much, so it seems really bright to me.

I’ve been wanting to watercolor lately, so  I thought this would be a fun stamp set with which to play.  This is a great stamp set, not only because it has matching framelits, but because you can watercolor with many of the stamps or you can just stamp on colored or patterned paper.  Very versatile!

Enjoy your Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps:  Secret Garden, Vintage Verses (available Jan. 22)

A Soft Soda Pop Top Card — FabFri10

It’s Friday!  And this week is another Fab Friday challenge.  It’s a color challenge this week.

When I first saw the colors, I thought the challenge would be pretty easy since I love all of these colors.  However, after struggling for a long while with how to incorporate them all into one card, I decided that this would truly be a challenge for me.  I knew I wanted to somehow incorporate the new soda pop tops into my project because I hadn’t used them yet.  Here’s what I ended up with after much deliberation.  I must have pulled out dozens of patterned papers and stamp sets.

Soft Soda Pop Top -- FabFri09

I used the new stamp set, Collage Curios, for the circle inside the Soda Pop Top.  I layered two of the stamped doilies from Delicate Doilies under it.  Here’s a closer look at the Soda Pop Top:
