Christmas Bells

Here’s a pretty simple Christmas card that could easily be mailed with no extra postage.  Although, I can’t say it was a fast card.  I am just not very good at coloring so it takes me a while to make cards like this.  Plus, I did a little fussy cutting with the bells stamp because I wanted to pop it up with a dimensional over the rest of the holly.  I don’t think I’ll be mass producing this one.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Bells & Boughs
Ink:  Staz-on Black, Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard, Summer Starfruit
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Watercolor paper, Festival of Prints dsp stack
Embellishments:  none (OMG!!! — I’ve never done that before!)

Noel Village

The little homes on this Christmas paper from the Snow Festival Designer Series Paper are so cute.  I wanted them to be the star of the show on this card, so I just added a banner for the sentiment and added some paper piercing to dress things up a bit.  This was a super easy card with very little actual stamping.

Enjoy your Tuesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Greetings of the Season
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler
Paper:  Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Snow Festival dsp
Embellishments:  Apothecary Accents framelits, Gumball Green 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon, Rhinestone Basic Jewels, Essentials Paper-Piercing Pack

Vanilla Peace

This is a card I made for a swap I participated in this past weekend.  I used two framelits to make the frame — using the larger framelit to cut the card stock, and then placing the smaller framelit on top of the die cut I just cut out to make the frame.  I then pierced the frame using the Festive Paper-Piercing Pack and placed it on the card base using dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment directly on the card base before adhering the frame.  I used the Big Shot a lot for this card — what would I do without that thing?

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Scentsational Season, Greetings of the Season
Ink:  Real Red, Gumball Green, More Mustard, Early Espresso
Paper:  Very Vanilla
Embellishments:  Labels Collection framelits, Holiday Collection framelits, Festive Paper-Piercing Pack, Pearl Basics Jewels, Delicate Designs folders, Real Red 1/8″ Taffeta Ribbon

Christmas Cheers

Now, here’s a color I haven’t used in a LONG time — River Rock.  It’s not that I don’t like River Rock (I DO like it), it’s just that I forget about poor River Rock and turn to his bigger brother, Crumb Cake most of the time.  For this card, I wanted to use something other than Crumb Cake because I’ve been making a lot of cards with it lately.  I thought I was pulling out Sahara Sand, but when I looked at it closely, I realized it was River Rock…and I really liked it with this card.

Well, I hope you’re enjoying your weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Fall Tulle Flower

I was excited to see that Julia Stainton is featured this month at the CASE Study Challenge Blog.  When I first started card making, she was a blogger that I admired (I still do too!).  I love everything she makes!  She is so talented at not only card making, but at scrapbooking too.  I’ve cased quite a few of her projects over the years and I have been inspired by so many others.  Here is her card for this weeks challenge:

I tried to make a burlap flower like this one a couple of weeks ago, and all I ended up with was a mess — frayed burlap strings everywhere!  I may have to give it another go after seeing this beautiful card.

I used the scalloped tulle ribbon in the Holiday Catalog for my flower.  It is a dream to work with — no frayed edges and it ties beautifully.

Well, enjoy your Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!

It’s a Bright Happy Day

Warning:  The following card may require sunglasses to view!  🙂

I’ve been making so many Fall/Christmas/Halloween cards lately that the colors in this card seem so bright to me, and I love these colors.  I chose these colors because I wanted to play along with the color challenge at The Color Throwdown site.  I just found this site, and I was amazed that this is challenge #213.  How have I missed it that long?

Since I also wanted to play along with the sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches, I decided to combine the two challenges.

Well, we’ve made it to Friday.  Enjoy your day!  Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Trees X 3

These little trees just make me smile!  I think they are so cute and I love polka dots.  I stamped and die cut three of them out and added three little stars made of the champagne glimmer paper (love that stuff!).  I embossed the greeting with Cherry Cobbler embossing powder.  This was an easy card to make.

A Cup of Christmas Coacoa

I wanted to play with the sketch challenge over at the Retro Sketches site.  This is a great sketch to use some of your scraps of pretty patterned paper.

When I was trying to decide what to use for my focal image, I decided to combine the Retro Sketches challenge with this week’s challenge at the Paper Players, as I wanted to play along with this challenge too.  The Paper Players challenge is to feature a cup.

So I used the one “cup” image I have, which I happen to love, from the Scentsational Season set in the Holiday catalog.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Batty Halloween Card

Here’s a Halloween card for you today.  I love the bats in the Googly Ghouls set.  I cut three of them out and then popped them up on dimensionals for this card.  I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig for stamping the chevron stripes from the Border Banter set.  It was really easy to get them lined up that way.

Well, we made it to the State Fair yesterday.  My little one was a trooper and even though I could tell she still wasn’t 100%, she kept up with everyone else and had a good time.  Once we got home, my oldest said his tummy really hurt.  Hmmm…wonder if that was due to the Fletcher’s corny dog, the fried cookie dough, the red velvet funnel cake or the sweet potato tornado fries that he had???  😉

Have a great Tuesday, which will feel like Monday to me since yesterday was a holiday for us.  Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps:  Border Banter, Googly Ghouls
Ink:  Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Lucky Limeade, Basic Black

Patchwork Peace on Earth

Here’s another Christmas card I made with the Festival of Prints Designer Series Paper stack.  I pulled out my sewing machine and used it on this card.  Don’t look closely — my zig-zag stitch wasn’t working right and I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it.  It was probably malfunctioning from lack of use.  🙂

I hope you enjoyed your weekend.  My kids have the day off from school today so we are planning on going to the State Fair if my little one is feeling better.  She has been sick over the weekend.

Have a good Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!
