Summer Daisy

I’ve been seeing so many great Fall and Christmas projects on the internet for the past month or so.  Now that it’s September, I was hoping that I’d feel more like making Fall and Christmas projects.  However, the forecast for North Texas this week includes days of 100+ degrees temperatures.  I just can’t seem to face any of my Fall or Christmas stamps yet.  So here is another summery card for you.

Thanks for stopping by!

Jar of Flowers

I don’t think I’ve used the Perfectly Preserved set and dies for a few days now.    Believe me — it has taken restraint on my part.  I think I am addicted to that set!  🙂

I wanted to play along with the sketch over at Retro Sketches, and I thought this week’s sketch was perfect for the Perfectly Preserved set.  Here’s the sketch:

And here’s my card:

I hope you enjoy your holiday, for those of you in the US who have the day off.   Thanks for stopping by!

Neglected Field Flowers

Field Flowers was one of the first sets I bought when the previous catalog came out.  I just loved all of the samples with it in that catalog and I thought it was such a pretty set.  Well, I’m surprised that the flowers didn’t look all dried and shriveled up from neglect when I stamped them yesterday.  I’ve hardly used this set.  I don’t know why — I love it and I still think it is a beautiful set.  So when I saw this week’s sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches site, and it had the long panel that would be perfect for the Field Flowers set, I knew I had to dust it off and give it some inky love.

I hope you enjoy your Saturday and long weekend (for those of us who are blessed to have one in the U.S.).  Thanks for stopping by!

Hexagon Madness

Hexagons are so trendy right now in the stamping world, and this week’s Tuesday Trigger over at the Moxie Fab World blog included them in a cute way.

The hexagons and crochet lace are what grabbed my attention in the picture, so that’s what I focused on for my card.  I loved the floral fabric, so I reached for the Twitterpated designer series paper.  One of the sheets in this package has a hexagon pattern, which makes a nice template for cutting out hexagons on any paper.  I keep hoping that someday soon Stampin’ Up will give us a hexagon punch (hint, hint for anyone who works at the Stampin’ Up home office and happens to be looking at this blog — probably no one :)).

So, anyway, here’s my card:

Well, enjoy your Friday!   Thanks for stopping by!

Bright Mojo Birthday

I love the sketch over at the Mojo Monday site this week, so I decided to play along.

I ended up making a normal size 4″ x 6″ card just because I knew I wanted to mail this one out and that’s the size of envelopes I have.

I thought this would be a good unisex card, and it was easy to make.

Enjoy your Thursday!  We’re almost to that three-day weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

Banners & a Cupcake

I thought this week’s Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge was a cute sketch, so I decided to play along.

I hadn’t used the cupcake punch or stamp set in a long time, and it’s so cute.  It needed to go with a cute sketch, right?  So I thought the two should go together.

I know just who I need to give this card to next week.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Is it a Flower or Is it a Medallion?

So what do you think?  Does the Quint-Essential Flower stamp look like a flower or a medallion to you?  Personally, I go back and forth.  I can’t decide.

What I love most about this stamp is the layering possibilities that go with it.  And of course, the layering is made easier with the coordinating punches.

Enjoy your Tuesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps:  Quint-Essential Flower, Sweet Essentials

Butterfly Smooches

I wanted to play along with the sketch challenge over at Retro Sketches today.

I haven’t used one of my favorite dies, Beautiful Butterflies, in a long time so I decided to pull that out.  I also hadn’t used some of my favorite designer series paper, Summer Smooches in a long time, so I pulled it out too.  The rest was easy-peasy.

Nothing hard about this card, but I like the layers and the simplicity.  As you can tell, I’m still trying to hold on to summer.  As much as I love Fall (and it is my favorite season), I’m not ready for it quite yet.  Maybe that’s why I’m sad that my kids went back to school today, besides the fact that I miss having them at home with me.

Enjoy your last week of August!  Thanks for stopping by!

Convention Artisan Finalists Swap

While I was at Stampin’ Up’s annual convention last month, I participated in a swap with the other 19 Artisan Finalists.  I was really looking forward to that swap — not only getting 19 great cards, but getting to meet the other ladies.  It was fun, and the cards were fabulous.

I think I spent more time designing this card than I did any of the five cards I entered in the contest.  I didn’t want to embarrass myself, because I knew the others would be so good.  This card turned out to be a little more time intensive than I planned (especially when making 24 of them).  That was mainly due to the doily die and trying to get all of those little holes punched out.  I don’t think I want to use that die again for a long time!  I never seemed to mind the extra time that die required until I had to make 24 of them.  :)It’s fine when making a single card, but watch out when making multiples.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

Topsy-Turvy Convention Swap

I was able to attend Stampin’ Up’s annual convention in Salt Lake City last month.  It is always such a fun time!  I get to see friends from around the country that I made through Stampin’ Up, there are fun and informative classes to attend, and I get to swap cards with other demonstrators.

This is one of the swaps I made and took with me.  It’s definitely a bright and cheerful card.

Enjoy your weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!
