A Simple Kraft Christmas — Monday Montage #33

Monday Montage Banner -- October

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We have nine different bloggers ready to share their creativity with you.  All you need to do is click on the “Next” buttons at the bottom of each post to work your way through all of the participants.

I have really been drawn to our Kraft and Crumb Cake card stock lately.  It gives such a warm and cozy looks to Christmas cards, and I love it.  I’ve also been drawn to super simple cards lately.  At this time of year, I just don’t have the time to spend on crafting like I wish I had.   So I have to keep things simpler.

Simple Row of TreesFor this first card, I punched out three trees from Crumb Cake card stock with the Tree Punch and sponged the edges with some Whisper White Craft Ink.  I also sponged the edges of the card layers, and stamped the sentiment from the stamp set included in the November My Paper Pumpkin kit.

Simple Row of Trees Close UpThis was a super simple and quick card to make.

Crooked Christmas CheerOn this card, I used some of the Kraft card stock, which I love, love, love.  I stamped this pretty sentiment image from Cheerful Christmas, which I colored with my Stampin’ Write markers onto Whisper White card stock.

Crooked Christmas Cheer Close UpI added a few simple embellishments and tilted the focal panel a little to the side.  Easy-peasy.

Peace & Joy Amongst the Stars — FMS163

It’s time for a new challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week the lovely Cindy Hall is our hostess.  I love how all of Cindy’s cards have such fabulous details, and her sketch this week is a great one.

I love stars, and the Bright & Beautiful set was the first thing on my wish list when I first saw the Holiday catalog.  But have I actually used it yet?  No.  Not until this week.  I’m not sure why.  Stars are an easy go-to for me for birthdays or graduation cards, but I guess not so much for Christmas cards.  I decided that I really needed to ink these pretty stars up, so I pulled them out for this sketch.

Starry Peace and JoyI have been itching to use this Gorgeous (with a capital G) silver satin ribbon for a while now, so when I saw the sketch I knew it would be perfect.  I planned my color combo based entirely on the ribbon.  🙂

Starry Peace and Joy Close UpThe smaller stars in the background were stamped with Silver Encore ink and the large star was embossed with Cherry Cobbler embossing powder.

We hope you can make time to join us with this challenge.  We love seeing how you interpret the sketches each week.  You can see what the design team did with the sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches site for a little inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Trees with Gold

Watercolored TreesHere’s another card I made using the Watercolor Winter Simply Created Card Kit.  Everything is die cut and/or embossed for you, so all you need to do is watercolor the images you like.

Watercolored Trees Close UpI added the button and bakers’ twine on this card.  And the stamp is from the Good Greetings hostess set.  All of the rest came from the kit.

Enjoy your Monday.  Thanks for stopping by!

Snowflake Joy

Joy in the SnowflakesI’ve got another card for you that I made using some of the supplies from the Watercolor Winter Simply Created Card Kit.  This card was super simple to make as the snowflakes, sentiment, and tiny circles are all die-cut and ready to use.

Joy in the Snowflakes Close UpAt one time the “j” in the “joy” was dotted, but it must have fallen off between finishing the card and taking the picture.  I’ll have to add another one on there before mailing the card.

A Thanksgiving Snapshot — FMS162

It’s Wednesday, and it’s time for another sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week we have the fabulously talented Kim Singdahlsen as our hostess, and look at what she has for us:

It’s a great sketch, I tell ya.  When I first saw it I thought of all of those cute Project Life cards in the Seasonal Snapshot collection.  I decided to make a Thanksgiving themed card before I run out of time.

A Seasonal Snapshot of FallI love how easy it is to make cards as well as scrapbook pages with these cards and embellishments.  I also used the Mingle All the Way stamp set for this card.

A Seasonal Snapshot of Fall Close UpWe hope you’ll be able to make your own card using this sketch.  We love to see what you make.  You can check out what the design team made using the sketch at the Freshly Made Sketches site.

A Bright Red Sled — Monday Montage #32

Monday Montage Banner -- October

We have another Monday Montage blog hop ready for you.  There are ten of us stampers participating, and all you have to do is click on the links at the bottom of each post to work your way through all ten blogs.  Super Easy!

I received the Watercolor Winter Simply Created Card Kit at Convention this past summer as part of a special class.  It was made even more special because I got to take the class with a few of the Monday Montage ladies.  I remember thinking that the kit was a little overwhelming because there is so much stuff in the kit.

I hadn’t pulled out the kit once since coming home.  But the other day I pulled it out, spread all of the contents out on my table, and was totally inspired to make several cards all at one sitting.  I think once I could actually spread everything out and really take an inventory of all the contents, I wasn’t so intimidated and overwhelmed anymore.

The kit gives you plenty of ideas of cards that have already been made, but I often like to do my own thing, so maybe these projects can give you some extra ideas.

Bokeh SledI absolutely love these die-cut sleds!  They are made from watercolor paper, so they are easy to color them any color you choose.  Being raised in South Texas, there were never any opportunities to go sledding in the winter, but I always wanted one of these red sleds.  They just look so fun!

Bokeh Sled Close UpI made the background by using a sponge dauber and Whisper White Craft ink to make the circles.  The white sequins and gold glittery sentiment come with the kit.  The “holidays” sentiment comes in the Watercolor Winter Too stamp set.

Merry & Bright Sled 2Here’s another red sled.  I guess you could paint them any color, but red just looks so perfect to me.  I added a sheet of vellum over the card base and added a large vellum snowflake, which I covered with Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  I watercolored the sentiment and adhered it and the snowflakes from the Frosted Sequins embellishments.

You’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog now to see her awesome creativity at work.  If you’d rather work your way backwards, you can go visit the super talented Wendy Weixler.  Either way, just be sure to work your way through all ten blogs.

Mad for Christmas Plaid

Flannel WreathI love this Christmas plaid dsp in the Trim the Tree dsp stack.  It just looks so warm and cozy.  I would love to have wrapping paper like this to wrap all of our presents under the tree.  Hmmm….I wonder if I could find that.

Flannel Wreath Close UpI also love this wreath stamp and coordinating framelits.  It’s so easy to line everything up — stamping-wise and cutting-wise.

Praying Vintage Style

I needed to make a sympathy card and when I saw the challenge over at the Paper Players this week I knew I could use it to make the card.  My friend who lost her father yesterday loves this style.

I pulled out a set I haven’t used in a long time, Everything Eleanor, because it has some beautiful vintage-style elements.    I started by lightly painting a sheet of Typeset dsp with a layer of gesso to soften the newsprint.  After that dried I added my elements.

Praying for Debbie 2

I used a color scheme of Kraft and Lost Lagoon.  The bottom layer of dsp is from the All Abloom dsp stack, and the sentiment is from Thoughts & Prayers.

Praying for Debbie Close Up 2

Sympathy cards are always so hard to make.  I like the soothing colors on this card and the pretty, muted images.

CAS Bloom — FMS161

Another Wednesday, another great new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.  And this week the super talented Linda Callahan is our hostess.  Look at what she has for us:

This is a simple and versatile sketch, and I struggled and struggled with it.  I was determined to use a certain stamp set with it, and after two hours of trying to make it work and filling up my trash can, I pulled an old favorite off my stamp shelf and I was finished in less than ten minutes.

I miss you bloomingI hadn’t used Blooming with Kindness in a long while, and I love this set.  I used a color combo of Kraft, Strawberry Slush, and Hello Honey.

I kept it very clean and simple, and when I’m struggling with a card that is the best route for me.

I miss you blooming close upWe hope you’ll join us and make your own card with this sketch.  If you do, please link it to our gallery so we can see it too.  We love looking at what you make.  You can check out what the rest of the design team made at the Freshly Made Sketches site for some inspiration.

A Nutty ‘Stache

Nutty StarsI’ve made a couple of cards now with the cute Santa from the Santa Stache stamp set, but hadn’t made any using the nutcracker stamp.  So I thought it was time I inked him up.

I colored him with my Blendabilities and added a little Santa & Co. Designer Washi Tape on the side.  I then punched out a few stars from a scrap of Crushed Curry card stock using the Confetti Stars punch and glued them down on a Marina Mist card base.

A simple and quick design.

Enjoy your Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!
