Ok. So I can’t ignore it anymore. It’s November now, and that means Christmas is right around the corner. I guess I had better get busy and start preparing so I won’t be freaking out the week before Christmas about how much I need to do.

Maybe a Christmas card will put me in the mood. Especially a simple one.

I started by cutting out the large label using one of the Apothecary Accents framelits. After stamping the three trees on it, I added the punched out stars and sentiment (from Good Greetings). I ran the card base through the Big Shot with the Lucky Stars embossing folder and I was done. Pretty easy, huh!

When I saw that big circle for the focal image, I immediately thought of using my #Hello set. I love this set! And to think this set wasn’t even on my first order when the annual catalog came out. It has turned out to be one of my favorites! It makes for fast and easy cards, and the images are so fun.

I paired the stamp with the Flashback dsp. I love the colors and patterns in this package.

Awesome Feathered Thanks — Monday Montage #31

I needed a thank you card and I hadn’t used the Four Feathers stamp set in a while, so I pulled it out. I paired it with the Yippee-Skippee! sentiment set and used some of the Park Lane dsp.

I also used a little strip of the Blackberry Bliss Color Me Autumn washi tape at the top of the sentiment banner. I love using washi tape! It adds an instant pop of color in such a fun way.

A Thank You Bird

I needed to make a thank you card for my MIL, and since she is a big bird lover I knew I wanted her card to have a bird. That gave me an excuse to use one of my favorite stamp sets, Choose Happiness.

I used a color scheme of Rich Razzleberry, Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon and Night of Navy.

My daughter and I are off to help 30 volunteers stamp away this morning. It is Make a Difference Day, and we are coordinating an event for the Visiting Nurses Association. They want 300 cards for their hospice patients, so I have been busy planning all of the cards and cutting all of the card stock. The volunteers will be doing the stamping and assembly. It will be fun to see it all come to completion this morning.

Stache-ing through the Snow — FMS

Look at this fabulous sketch that Jen Mitchell has for us this week over at Freshly Made Sketches:

Jen is a CAS genius! She has such a knack for making beautiful CAS cards. And I think this sketch is perfect for CAS cards.

I wanted to use this fun Santa image from the Santa Stache stamp set. I think “jolly” is such an appropriate description for this Santa.

He makes me smile. I colored him with my Blendabilities markers and used the coordinating Mustache Framelits die to cut out and pop us his fun mustache.

I thought this pretty snow-themed dsp coordinates so well with the fun sentiment. It’s from the Nordic Noel pack.

Gift Ensemble

Our church is blessed to have a really active youth group with great youth pastors on staff. The head youth pastor recently went on a much earned six-week sabbatical, and with one assistant youth pastor short, the other assistant youth pastor found herself in charge (with very capable help) for that time period. Of course, she did a fabulous job and we wanted to let her know that we think she is pretty special.

I made a card so that we could write her a note of thanks and encouragement and a coordinating little gift box. I love how this hobby allows us to make little ensembles like this that perfectly coordinate.

I thought this stamp from Big News would be perfect for her card. She is pretty awesome and we thought she should know.

I used one of the super cute Tiny Treat Boxes for her gift. We found a necklace that represents the theme of an upcoming event, and we immediately thought of her when we saw it. I love it when I can find a perfect gift for someone! I wish that would happen more often. I usually struggle with that.

This is such a fun little stamp set. I think the images are cute and sweet. I love the owl that comes with it, but I used the flower on this card. The flower coordinates with the Blossom Punch. Love that!

I used a color combo of Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss, and Pool Party.

Christmas Cheer — FMS158

I always look forward to Wednesdays because that’s when we unveil a new challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches. And this week, the uber-talented Jennifer Timko is our hostess. Look at the great sketch she has for us:

It didn’t take me long to pick out the Cheerful Christmas stamp set for this sketch. I love how clean and pretty the main image is and I thought it would fit perfectly with the sketch.

I paired it with some dsp from the Nordic Noel pack and some Soft Sky card stock for the base.

This turned out to be a really simple and easy card. I love it when that happens!

I combined two different stamp sets to make this card — Big News and Banner Banter. I pulled out my On Film framelits dies as well to make the photo frame.

Halloween Mashup

I love how the Project Life Seasonal Snapshot Card Collection makes it so easy to pull together a quick card. I used three of the cards on this project, and added some die cuts from the Fall Fest stamp set and coordinating Fun Fall Framelits dies.
