Little Pink Typewriter — FMS157

I’m so glad you came by today!  It’s my turn to host the challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches this week, and I hope you’ll play along.  Ready to see the sketch?  Here it is:

I recently got the Tap Tap Tap stamp set.  I didn’t think I needed that set, and when I put in an order for a few other supplies it somehow ended up in my order.  Does that ever happen to you too?  Since it was 95 degrees here again today, I just can’t make Fall or Christmas cards, so I was glad to have this set handy.

Little Pink TypewriterI always thought it would be fun to have a typewriter this color.  Well, I guess I can now.  I watercolored the image after stamping it with StazOn Black ink.  The color scheme is Crisp Cantaloupe and Coastal Cabana with Basic Black and Very Vanilla.

Little Pink Typewriter Close UpWe would love to have you join us for this challenge.  Hop on over to the Freshly Made Sketches site and check out what a fabulous job the design team did with the sketch, and then post your own creation to the gallery so we can 000h and aaah over your creations.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Birthdays Rock

Birthdays RockI needed a birthday card for a friend yesterday, and I wanted it to be bright and happy.  So I pulled out a couple of stamp sets, not sure what I wanted to use.  I ended up using both of them, which was easier than having to make a decision.

Birthdays Rock Close upThe striped circle and sentiment come from the #hello stamp set (I love this set so much!) and the arrow came from the What’s Up stamp set (which has a coordinating arrow punch).

Enjoy your Tuesday and be sure to come back tomorrow.  I get to host this week’s challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches and I can’t wait to share it with you.  Thanks for stopping by!

Thankful Leaf

Textured PL Maple Leaf
Here’s a pretty simple card for you today which doesn’t have much stamping, but was fun to make nonetheless.

I started by cutting one of the larger Seasonal Snapshot Project Life cards to a 4″ x 5-1/4″ size and adhering it to the card base.  I then took a doily and sponged it with some Sahara Sand ink.  My objective there was to give it an aged and not-so-stark-white look.  I think all that I really accomplished there was making it look dirty.  :0

After adding the burlap ribbon, I added some loops of linen thread.  I cut out a leaf with the Bigz Autumn Accents die using Tangerine Tango card stock, which I then ran through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain embossing folder.

The sentiment is from the Holiday Invitation stamp set.

Enjoy your Friday!  Thanks for stopping by!

It’s Your Birthday — FMS156

Hooray for Wednesday!  Wednesday means it’s time for another sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week the queen of layers and monochromatic loveliness, and overall fabulousness, Narelle Farrugia has a superb sketch for us:

I loved this sketch at first sight!  And I actually pulled my card together pretty quickly.  I knew right away that I wanted to use the #hello stamp set.  I love this set!  I thought I’d keep true to the sketch and use some fun bright colors — Real Red, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, and Pool Party to the rescue.

Ampersand BirthdayI even pulled out my sewing machine and added a little wonky stitching because all of that white space made me a little uneasy.

The sentiment comes from a stamp in a previous month’s My Paper Pumpkin kit.

Ampersand Birthday Close UpYou should head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches site to check out what the design team made this week.  I already took a peek, and was amazed as usual.  We hope you’ll play along this week and post your creation to the gallery.  We always love seeing what you make.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Halloween Boo — Monday Montage #29

Monday Montage Banner -- October

It’s time for another Monday Montage blog hop!  There are ten of us participating, and all you have to do is click on the links at the end of each post to travel to all ten blogs.

One of the things I love about the monthly My Paper Pumpkin kits are that they usually include some exclusive stamps.  And I always love them.  While most of the supplies in the kit get used up as you make the projects, the stamps will last forever.  This month’s kit has some fab Halloween stamps.

Pumpkin TagThe bats and the sentiment both use this month’s My Paper Pumpkin kit stamps.  The pumpkins come from the Fall Fest stamp set.

I used the Positively Chevron background stamp on the tag with some Versamark ink and Heat & Stick Powder.  I then applied some Gold Stampin’ Glitter.

Pumpkin Tag Close UpI took a length of the White & Tangerine Tango Two-Tone Trim and unwound it, removed some of the threads, and tied a big bow around some of the Black 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon.

You’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog to check out her awesome inspiration.  If you’d rather work your way backwards, you can venture over to Wendy Weixler’s always creative blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all ten blogs.

Choose Fall Happiness

Choose Happy FallI was in the mood to make a collage-style card yesterday, so I pulled out one of my favorite sets for that style, Choose Happiness.  I decided to use some Fall colors with it to be a bit different.  Cajun Craze, Mossy Meadow and Blackberry Bliss were what I ended up using, mainly because I wanted to use some washi tape too.  I threw in some little bits of black as well.

Choose Happy Fall Close UpThe sentiment comes from the sentiment set, And Many More.  The splatters are from Gorgeous Grunge.

Enjoy your Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Flashback Rock Star

Flashback Rock StarOut of all of the dsp packs I have (let’s not count), it seems like I’ve used the Flashback paper the least.  I don’t know why!  I love the colors and fun patterns in this package.  So I decided I needed to remedy that situation.

I stamped one of the stars from Be the Star with Versamark ink and embossed it with Whisper White Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto Real Red card stock.  I then used one of the coordinating Star Framelits dies to cut it out.

I added a little Basics Hodgepodge clip and some Crushed Curry Baker’s Twine for a fun little embellishment.

Enjoy your Thursday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Holiday Happy — FMS155

Time is flying by!  It’s already time for another challenge over at Freshly Made Sketches.  And this week our fabulously talented Kiwi friend, Karren Johnson, is our hostess.  I was so excited when I saw that this sketch features a tag.  I love making tags!

I pulled out the Mingle All the Way stamp set and colored it with my Stampin’ Write markers.  I love the fun fonts on this set.

Holiday HappyThe dsp strip on the side comes from the Nordic Noel dsp package.  I love the blend of traditional and non-traditional colors for Christmas in this package.

Happy Holiday Close UpWe have had such great participation lately, and I hope that you’ll help to make that continue.  We love to see what you do with the sketches.  Please stop by and see what the design team made this week at the Freshly Made Sketches site.  It’s always fun to see how we come up with such different cards and styles using the same sketch.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Give Thanks

Give Thanks for FringeI love Fall colors.  We don’t really get the pretty colors of leaves for Fall where I live, but I can make my own.  I pulled out my Fall Fest stamp set and made my own Crushed Curry and Cajun Craze leaves.

Give Thanks for Fringe Close UpThe sentiment comes from the Holiday Invitation stamp set.  I added some gold sequins and colored some pearls.

I finally used the Fringe Scissors to make the Mossy Meadow trim.  They are really fun to use.

Enjoy your Tuesday!  Thanks for stopping by!
