Here’s a little love note I made for my daughter.  She had a really good report card and I wanted her to know how proud I am of her, so I put this in her lunch box with a Kit-Kat bar (her favorite).

I used two different stamp sets on this card — Life in the Forest and Just Sayin’.  The latter has a coordinating set of framelits (love that!).

Two for One — Monday Montage #11

Monday Montage Banner -- October

We’re excited to share with you another Monday Montage blog hop today.  There are ten of us participating, and you can work your way through all ten posts by clicking on the arrow links at the bottom of each post.

I find that sometimes when I have supplies out from making one card, it just makes sense to make another.  I usually don’t want to make the exact same thing again, but I’ll use the same supplies to make something a little different.

So, I had some Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz, and Coastal Cabana card stock and inks out.  Love this color combo, by the way.  I also had the new dsp stack, Fresh Prints, out as well as some Tea Lace doilies and Calypso Coral Baker’s Twine.  I pulled out my new Banners Framelits dies and coordinating Perfect Pennants stamp set and whipped up two cards.

Coastal WishOn the above card, I also used the little star stamp that will be included in a new Sale-a-Bration set, Banner Blast, that will be out on January 28.  I also include a button from the Basic Metal Buttons collection in the Spring catalog.

Happy BannersOn this second card, I used a different image from the Perfect Pennants set and a snippet of Pear Pizzazz dsp from the Subtles DSP stack.  The Banners Framelits make it so easy to cut out perfect banners.

Well, you’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog and check out her fabulous creations.  Just click the Next arrow below.  Or, if you’d rather work your way backwards, you can go visit the talented Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Either way, you can work your way through the nine other blogs.

Crisp Cantaloupe and Crumb Cake

Sounds like a food-related post, doesn’t it?  But, no.  It’s just some of Stampin’ Up’s fun color names for a color combo that I have been loving lately — Crisp Cantaloupe and Crumb Cake.

Cantaloupe RoseI had pretty much forgotten that I had any of this Natural Composition Specialty dsp left. It adds such a pretty touch with no extra work — love that!  I also used an edgelit from the Adorning Accents set, which I haven’t pulled out in a long time.  It’s fun to use some old goodies and pair them with new things.

Enjoy your Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Peaceful Petals
Ink:  Staz-on Black, Crisp Cantaloupe, Old Olive
Paper:  Whisper White, Crisp Cantaloupe, Natural Composition Specialty dsp
Embellishments:  Whisper White 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon, Adorning Accents Edgelits, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack

Vivid Vases

Here’s a card featuring a single stamp, Vivid Vases, in the Spring catalog.  This is a fun stamp to color.

Vivid Vases

I used a blender pen and ink from my ink pads to color the image.  This card was really quick to pull together.

Ink:  StazOn Black, Soft Sky, Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo
Paper:  Island Indigo, Whisper White, Basic Black, Gingham Garden dsp
Embellishments:  Hardware Clips Essentials, Island Indigo Baker’s Twine

You & Me — FMS119

It’s good to be back on schedule with another Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  Today, the lovely Cindy Lovell, who has been so kind to step in with us, has an awesome sketch for us.  I think you’ll find it right on trend, as I’ve seen so many cards which have panels set on an angle.

I knew I wanted to make another Valentine’s card, so I substituted a heart for the star image on the sketch.  And since I love the look of doilies for Valentine’s Day, I added that too.  I like the way the doily softened up the lines of the sketch.

Me and YouI hope you can make the time to join us and create your own card using the sketch.  We love to look through the gallery each week and get inspiration from your creations.  Hop on over to the Freshly Made Sketches site and check out what the other designers made.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Perfect Pennants
Ink:  Pink Pirouette, Real Red, Basic Black
Paper:  Whisper White, Subtles DSP stack, Modern Medley dsp, Red Glimmer Paper
Embellishments:  White Tea Lace Paper Doilies, Neutrals Designer Buttons, Cherry Cobbler Baker’s Twine, Neutrals Candy Dots

Lots of Hearts

I pulled out an older set, Hearts a Flutter, and decided to play with it this past weekend.  I used one of my misters with some Blushing Bride ink diluted in rubbing alcohol and misted my white card base.  Then I stamped some of the heart shapes randomly on the card.  I die cut the word “love” using one of the Expressions Thinlits dies out out of the Red Glimmer Paper.  A pretty quick and simple card.

You’re So Sweet

You're So Sweet

Here’s a quick and easy card for you today.  I used watercolor paper for this card, and used an aquapainter to swipe some Strawberry Slush ink across the card.  The stamp set is a new photopolymer set called “Countless Sayings 2.”  I added some of the fun Retro Fresh This and That Designer Washi Tape for a fun accent.

Enjoy your Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Watercolor Thank You

Watercolor Thanks

I needed to make a thank you card and I just received  the new Watercolor Wonder Designer Note cards & Envelopes, so that was my starting point with this card.  We had the most beautiful, Spring-like day yesterday in North Texas, so I was drawn to my flower stamps.  I know there will be more winter before spring truly arrives, but it was fun to be outside yesterday.

The cheery chevron pattern on the bottom is already on the card, so I only added the flower and sentiment.  I did fussy cut the flower and stem, but otherwise this card was super quick to make.

Enjoy your Sunday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Ink:  Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green

Love U

I hate to rush from one holiday to another, but it’s time for me to start thinking about Valentine’s Day.  With two of my kids having birthdays that week (one is actually on Valentine’s Day and the other is on the 16th) and lots of class parties, that is a busy time.  So the more I can do to prepare now, the better off I’ll be then.

Love UI was totally inspired by this beautiful card made by Barbara Anders.  I cased her layout and used different products and colors for my card.

Enjoy your Thursday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Peaceful Petals — FMS118

It’s good to be back with another sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches.  This week Jen Mitchell has a great, simple sketch to get us back in the creative spirit.  She is so masterful with making CAS cards that are so beautiful.

I decided to use a floral image from the new set, Peaceful Petals.  It has some beautiful images that are perfect for coloring.  I used a blender pen and my ink pads for coloring.
