A Spring Butterfly

“Why do you look for the living among the dead?  He is not here; he has risen!  Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: “The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.”  Luke 24:5-7

Happy Easter, everyone!  I love celebrating the resurrection of our Saviour.  I can’t think of a happier occasion nor a better reason to celebrate.  I hope you are spending the day with those you love most.

Today is also a day for a new challenge at the Paper Players.  Jaydee has a fun tic-tac-toe challenge for us this week.

I chose to go with the column on the left — Spring, Blue & Pink, and Ribbon.

Sping Butterfly -- PP139

I think I may have cheated a bit on this challenge.  When I picked the dsp for the butterfly, I thought it was a little more pink-ish.  However, once I paired it with the Rose Red card stock, I think it’s probably more red-ish (maybe that’s why it’s called Rose RED).    But by the time I figured this all out, I was finished with the card and had company on the way for the holiday weekend.  So I knew it would have to do.  I apologize, Jaydee, for not really following the rules — my intentions were good.

I sprinkled the flower with Dazzling Diamonds and added some rhinestones for sparkle.  I thought the butterfly went with the Spring theme of the challenge.  I’ve provided links to the other designers so you can check out what they did with the challenge.

Enjoy your Sunday, and have a blessed Easter!  Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Happy Easter to you as well! Hope you are enjoying the day with your loved ones!!

Your card is beautiful! Love that layered butterfly! The embossing down the edge of your dsp adds so much too! Brilliant!

  2. This is gorgeous, Amy! I think Rose Red completely falls into the “pink” family, too. It’s rose AND red…it’s multi-purpose! I always love the fun detail you add to your projects. The Dazzling Diamonds you added to the flower is such a great touch. Hope you had a wonderful Easter! 🙂

  3. Hi Amy, this card with the butterfly is simply gorgeous! It is clean and sweet and fresh. I love the adorable little border you have done with the embossing folder! I had a look around your blog and all of your cards are fabulous! And SU! are starting to offer washi tape? How fab is that. Hope it comes to the UK too. Kx

  4. Very pretty, Amy! I love lots of white in a card, and the added colors and patterns are perfect. You’re also reminding me to use my border embossing folder, thanks!
