Flourishing Phrases — Stampin’ Up! Artisan Blog Hop

Welcome to another Stampin’ Up! Artisan Design Team Blog Hop!  There are 20 of us from around the globe who will be sharing our projects with you twice each month.  All you need to do to follow along is click on the link at the bottom of each post.

Our focus for this hop is the Flourishing Phrases bundle and 2015-2017 In-Color Envelope Paper.  And what a beautiful bundle it is!  This bundle has everything — beautiful floral images, intricate coordinating dies, and fabulous sentiments.

August Flourishes Set

I started by making a square card, which is something I don’t often do.  This particular card is 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″.

A watercolor wash of Mint Macaron ink was applied by spritzing some water on a clean acrylic block and then adding a bit of Mint Macaron ink, letting it mix with the water.  The block was then placed on the piece of thick Whisper White Cardstock.

August Flourishes CardI then stamped some splatters using  a stamp from Touches of Texture and embossed them with Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Two of the flourishes were cut from Vellum Cardstock and Whisper White Cardstock and placed over the dried watercolor wash piece.  I also added a bit of Copper Metallic Thread (so gorgeous), and added the sentiment which was placed over a piece of the Envelope Paper.

I also made a coordinating envelope using the Envelope Punch Board since my card is not a standard size.  Plus, it adds such a pretty touch.  This lightweight paper is perfect for not only making envelopes, but for adding layers on cards as well.

August Flourishes Bag

The coordinating gift bag was made using the same products and techniques.  I started with one of the Petite Cafe Gift Bags and added some pretty embellishments, including some of the Mint Macaron 3/8″ Sheer Linen Ribbon, which ties so beautifully.

I love how easy it is to create an elegant project with this bundle.  And I love how versatile this bundle is with its many great sentiments and gorgeous dies.
