Little Bella — FMS251

It’s time for another new sketch over at the Freshly Made Sketches site, and this week our hostess is Cindy Hall, the master of gorgeous details.  She wows me every week with the extra touches she adds to her cards.  Take a look at the sketch she has for us:

Since I really need to stock up on birthday cards and I haven’t had a chance to ink up the adorable Bella & Friends stamp set, I decided to embrace the opportunity to accomplish both goals with one card.

I think the dogs in this little set are so cute!  There is a little cupcake included in the set, so I figured I could make a birthday card out of it.

Bella BirthdayI watercolored this sweet little guy with an aquapainter using Smoky Slate, Pool Party, and Calypso Coral inks.  The dsp is from the A Little Foxy dsp stack.  I used the Sparkle embossing folder to add a little texture.

I kept this card really simple and stayed quite true to the sketch.  I didn’t even add any embellishments.  That may be a first for me!

Bella Birthday Close UpWe hope you’ll join us and play along with the challenge, making a card of your own.  If you do, please post it in the gallery at Freshly Made Sketches so we can see what you create.  We love browsing the gallery each week!  Meanwhile be sure to pop on over to the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team created for a big dose of inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

  1. Ooh! I love this interpretation of the sketch! I have this DSP, but it is kind of intimidating because the pattern is so busy and so far I’ve only seen it used with foxes. You have helped it really break out of it’s shell with the adorable card!

  2. I am the one who is always wowed by your cards! Thanks for the kind words. 🙂 Once again, your prove that we love the same things and the stamp set is no exception. You have made it look so awesome with your coloring and subtle watercoloring. I am not surprised by the awesomeness of this card, dear Artisan!

  3. Sweetest pup ever …There’s no need for any embellishment ! Your colouring job is fabulous and you created the perfect pretty bakground with the DSP and the embossing folder.
