Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful holiday season. I loved having all of our little chicks at home in the nest, but I must confess that I also felt pretty good dropping them off at school yesterday morning. It’s good to get back in a routine (and not have to load/unload the dishwasher twice a day). We’re back with another new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our friend from the snowy Northeast, Linda Callahan, is our hostess. She has a super versatile sketch for us that I think you’ll love:
Since today is the first day of Sale-a-Bration (woohoo!!), I thought I should use some Sale-a-Bration products. I’ve used two stamp sets for this card. One will be obvious, but you may have to look closely for the second one. Each Sale-a-Bration set is FREE with any $50 purchase.
I’m not sure why, but I love the Hey, Chick stamp set. All of the chickens are adorable and I love the sentiments. I stamped the images on watercolor paper and colored with an aquapainter.
The other stamp set that I used is another Sale-a-Bration set called Delicate Details. It has some fun border images, and I love how it is photopolymer and therefore easy to line everything up. I stamped one of the borders on the strip of Cherry Cobbler card stock with Basic Black ink.
We hope you’ll join us and make your own card using the sketch. We love to see what you create! Meanwhile, be sure to venture over to the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.
Enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!

Love your card. Great watercoloring, and nice to see how the Delicate Details set can add to a card. TFS
This is as cute as can be! Your watercoloring is perfect on these cute chicks and I love the detailed panel!

OMG those hens are just too much! I just think they’re so cute. And what a gorgeous card, Amy!
A wonderful take on the sketch, Amy! Love this fun hen and the cute egg… nice and soft water colouring too.
So cute, Amy! I love those chicken images too but haven’t had a chance to break out the set yet. Thanks for the inspiration!
This is such a great card Amy! I love that chicken and the egg! Great colouring! I think I need you to give me some lessons! Love that pop of red! Very sweet!
Fabulous take on the sketch. I love the baker’s twine as one of the vertical layers. And I’ve got to say that those little chicken stamps are so fun!
Great watercoloring, Amy! You really showcased those new products so well.

Darling card. I like the card design and the minimal coloring.
