It’s time for another new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our favorite pilot in the friendly skies and card maker extraordinaire, Jennifer Timko, is our hostess. Take a look at this fun sketch:
When I first saw this sketch I immediately thought of a shaker card. And I could count on my fingers how many shaker cards I’ve ever made. I like them, but I never think to make them. So since I had that thought, I decided to run with it.
Going with a Fall theme, I decided to substitute the circle shape for a leaf. I took a piece of Cajun Craze card stock and laid the leaf framelit down on it, tracing with a pencil around the outside of the framelit. I ran it through the Big Shot and then fussy cut the penciled outline with my paper snips. I used a piece of Painted Autumn dsp for the background of the leaf and filled the shaker with some Iridescent Sequins and some orange glitter I had on hand.
The Crumb Cake background was stamped with the Tree Rings background stamp using Versamark ink to add a subtle background.
Some copper metallic thread, burlap ribbon, and glitter enamel dots were added as embellishments. The sentiment was stamped with the Labeler Alphabet stamp set using Pear Pizzazz ink.
We hope you’ll join us and make your own card using the sketch. We love to see what your create. Meanwhile, be sure to visit the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration. They are an inspiring bunch!
Enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!
