Season of Wheat — Monday Montage #122

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of nine stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I’ve been playing around with the Blended Seasons bundle some more.  I love how fun it is to color the images, whether it’s using the watercolor pencils, the Stampin’ Blends, a blender pen and ink pads, or an aquapainter.  Coloring therapy is so relaxing and fun!

I hadn’t used the wheat image yet, so that was what I pulled out today.  My grandparents were farmers in Kansas, and I have fond memories of spending summers with them and “helping” with the wheat harvest.  My grandfather would operate the combine and I would ride with my grandmother in the truck as we delivered the wheat to the elevator.  Those were long, hot and dirty days, but this city girl thought it was so fun to spend time on the farm.

I used Stampin’ Blends markers to color the image.  A blend of Daffodil Delight and Pumpkin Pie were used, as well as Old Olive for the leaves  and Crumb Cake for the stems.

A simple watercolor wash using Pool Party and a stamp from Artisan Textures were used to make the background.

You’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog.  I always love seeing what she makes!  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can jump back to Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Either way, be sure to work your way through all of the blogs so you don’t miss a thing.
