Well, this has been a busy week! With the girls starting school on Monday and preparing to take my oldest back to college (and moving him into an apartment this year) on Friday, I am worn out! These are all good things though and my heart is full. However, it is emotional. I have a high school senior this year, which makes me tear up just saying that. And I was just getting used to having my son back home from college, and now he’s about to move 9 hours away again. I just wish Summer would last longer!
With another week, we have another new sketch for you over at Freshly Made Sketches. Our hostess this week is our favorite stamper from the land down under, Narelle Farrugia. She has a great one for us too. Take a look:
I recently received my pre-order of new goodies from the Holiday Catalog, which will go live on September 5th. But with all that’s been going on in our house, I’ve barely had time to look at it, let alone play with it. But when I saw this sketch, I immediately thought of a leaf in an upcoming stamp set, Falling for Leaves. There is a beautiful leaf stamp and there is a beautifully detailed leaf die as well. I used the die for this card.
I started with the background by using a couple of stamps from Artisan Textures. I then die-cut the leaf from a piece of dsp that will be available in the Holiday Catalog called Country Lane Designer Series Paper. The strip of paper under the leaf is also from that pack. I die-cut the solid leaf image from a piece of vellum paper and placed it under the dsp leaf.
This one came together pretty quickly, and I love the color combination.
We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration!
Enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!
