Simple Flower — FMS396

It’s time for a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess is Linda Callahan, who always brings a smile to my face, whether it be for her fabulous cards or her fabulous sense of humor.

I had to make this card in a hurry because we were about to leave on a big road trip.  My daughter will be attending the University of Michigan in the fall, and we decided to make a road trip there for her orientation session.  Since we had never been through this part of the country, we made some stops along the way — the arch in St. Louis, Chicago, and Indianapolis were a few of our stops.  It was a fun trip!

For my card, I used a new set called Band Together.  It has a big flower that I knew would be fun to color.  I chose to use my markers for this go around.

You have to look closely, but I added some score lines to my card to represent the lines in the sketch.  I love how it keeps the card clean with the focus on the pretty flower.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has made for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

  1. That card is so pretty! I forget how much impact a few simple score lines can have on a card! Thanks for the reminder!

  2. Sounds like a great road trip! Hope you enjoyed the arch- you were in my neck of the woods! Your flower is beautiful and what a great use of the sketch!
