It’s already time for another new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess is our friend from upstate New York, Linda Callahan. Take a look at her fun sketch:
This sketch had me stumped for quite a while. But then I decided that I could use a stamped image for one of the strips in the sketch and not be such a stickler about following it exactly.
For the vertical strip, I decided to use a new stamp set, Daffodil Daydream. I stamped the daffodils and butterflies and colored them with my alcohol markers before cutting them out. I then adhered them to a piece of patterned vellum from the Vellum Layering Designs collection.
I stamped the sentiment from the Sale-a-Bration set, Special Moments, with Versamark ink and embossed it with white embossing powder.
We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch. We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week. Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has made for your inspiration.
Enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!
This card is just beautiful Amy! I love those daffodils! They were so springy and cheery! The colours are so pretty! I also really love that patterned vellum! Oh my wish list is getting longer!
Pretty daffodils – and I love that vellum! Beautiful card!
You’re another one of these smart people that used an image for that vertical panel – why didn’t I think of that! Doh! Stunning card – those daffodils are just gorgeous, Amy!
So pretty Amy! Love the daffodils against the blue, but also the ‘unsung hero’ of the vellum overlay – great subtle additional detail and made me go in for a second look!
This such a delightful card, Amy! I love the soft colors paired with the black stripe. And that patterned vellum is so dainty! Love it.
