Ahead of the Game for Once — FMS524

We have a new sketch for you at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess, the queen of gorgeous die-cuts, Cecile Ribon, brings us a fabulous sketch all the way from France. Take a look at this fun sketch:

When I saw the sketch, I immediately thought of a die in the Hey Sports Fan suite. It’s not one of the focal dies in the set, nor is it one I’d probably normally think to use, but those little chevrons in the sketch made me think of it. So that made me want to use the coordinating stamp set and dsp since I just got it as well. And since it works so well for masculine cards and I don’t need any masculine birthday cards soon, I thought why not get ahead and make a father’s day card. This may be a record for me on having a card made before I need it. Now let’s see if I remember I have it when the time comes to actually send it!

I started with those fun little chevron dies on a piece of the Hey Sports fan dsp. I cut out the pennant from another sheet of the dsp, and stamped the Happy Father’s Day sentiment on a piece of white card stock, which I then cut out with my paper snips.

I added a few Resin Stars and a baker’s twine bow and called it a day for the outside of the card. But since this card came together so quickly, I had a little extra time and decided to decorate the inside of the card too. A little more stamping and a strip of dsp made quick work of that. And then I thought, why stop there? Why not decorate the envelope too?

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch! We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week. Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Enjoy your Wednesday! Thanks for stopping by!
