Eiffel World — FMS422

It’s time for a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our favorite stamper from up-state New York, Linda Callahan, is our hostess.  Take a look at this awesome sketch:

The Parisian Blossoms suite is such a pretty suite of products.  I love the soft colors and the pretty florals.  And I love the big Eiffel Tower die!

I die-cut it from Silver Foil paper and applied it to the card with dimensionals.  The paper is from the Parisian Blossoms paper pack.

The Eiffel Tower die made me think of travel.  I’ve never been to Paris, but I would love to go some day.  I thought this would be a fun card to send to my daughter and I thought this sentiment would be perfect for her and the travel theme.

I added some fun embellishments which will be listed at the bottom of the post.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch.  We love to see what you create as we browse the gallery each week!  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Party Lion — FMS 421

It’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess is our favorite Bostonian-area stamper, Jen Mitchell.  Take a look at this fun sketch:

I needed to make a birthday card and I hadn’t had the opportunity to play with the Birthday Bonanza suite yet, so I figured this was the perfect opportunity.  This is such a fun set!  I loved building these cute birthday animals.

I started by stamping the cute lion.  I love how easy it is to assemble him with the different stamps and the coordinating dies.

I die-cut the tag from Bermuda Bay card stock using one of the coordinating dies.  The tag is actually longer, but it is easy to shorten it to a length you desire.  I embossed the sentiment with white embossing powder.  The coordinating dies also contain these fun banners, which I cut down to fit how I wanted.

I added some sequins from the Sale-a-Bration offering and a fun pompom on his hat.  The paper is from the coordinating Birthday Bonanza DSP collection.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch!  We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery.  Meanwhile, be sure to check out what the design team has created for your inspiration at the Freshly Made Sketches site.

Tiny Little Heartfelt Valentine — FMS420

It’s time for our last sketch for the month of January at Freshly Made Sketches.  Yes, we’ve almost completed the first month of the year and February is just around the corner.  Our hostess this week is the talented and lovely Jennifer Timko, and she has a fun one for us.  Take a look:

I decided I’d better get busy with making some Valentines since it is getting close to that time.  I love the whole From My Heart suite in the mini catalog, and decided to go the easy route with some little Valentine cards to stick in gifts for that day.

This is a little 3″ x 3″ card.  I started by stamping and embossing the arrow.  I then used the two coordinating heart punches in the Heart Punch Pack to punch out the scalloped heart on the bottom layer and the pretty patterned heart on the top layer from two sheets of the From My Heart Specialty Designer Series Paper.  These papers have pretty foil accents in pink and red.

The sentiment is from another stamp set called Flourishing Phrases.  I added a little bow made with white twine and called it a day.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch!  We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site for some inspiration from the design team.

Hey, Little Ladybug — FMS419

It’s time for a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess is the delightful Lee Ann Barrett.  Take a look at the fun sketch she has for us:

I wanted to make a card to send to my daughter at college, and I thought the Little Ladybug stamp set, which is a Sale-a-Bration hostess set, which is free with any order of $300 or more, would be perfect for a card for her.

This is another Sale-a-Bration set that will have coordinating dies for purchase starting February 4.  I used them to cut out the two ladybugs and the flower.  I sponged some ink on a piece of card stock to create the background for the scene.

Lily Pad Pond — FMS418

It’s time for a new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess is the very talented Jacquie Southas, who has a fun sketch for us.  Take a look:

This sketch was extra challenging for me as I realized I don’t have a die to cut that large of an oval or a circle as in the sketch.  So I had to get creative.  Hopefully, if you look really hard (or maybe don’t look too closely), you can see that I tried to sponge on some color to roughly create the curve in the sketch.

This stamp set is called Lovely Lily Pad, and is one of the Sale-a-Bration offerings, which you can acquire for free with any $50 purchase until March 31.

I started the card by sponging on some Pool Party ink.  The lily pads and flowers were cut out with my paper snips, but you can also acquire the dies that would cut them out as another Sale-a-Bration offerering.  They are free with a $100 purchase.

I added a sentiment from the Label Me Bold stamp set.  The sequins are another Sale-a-Bration offering.

Meerkat Family — FMS417

I hope your new year has gotten off to a good start!  We have a new sketch for you at Freshly Made Sketches, which is a great way to kick off 2020.  Take a look at this fun sketch that Judy Rozema, our hostess, has for us:

I’ve used one of the new Sale-a-Brations sets called The Gang’s All Meer for this card.  I knew I had to have this set right away when I first saw it.  We’re a family of five, and there are five cute meerkats in one of the stamped images.

I’m going to put the first letters of each of our names on the individual meerkats so the recipient will know who each meerkat is.  🙂

These guys were super easy and fun to color.  I used an old embossing folder on the card base to add a little interest.

A Merry Toile Christmas — FMS416

Twas the week before Christmas and we have a new sketch for you over at Freshly Made Sketches.  It’s my turn to be the hostess, and with the craziness of last minute preparations, I thought a card that features a tilted/crooked/wonky panel would be appropriate.  Take a look:

The closer I get to Christmas, the simpler my cards become.  With this one, I let the pretty Toile Tidings dsp do most of the work.  I paired it with my favorite sentiment die from the Merry Christmas Dies.  I just love the scripty “M” in this one.

The “Merry” was cut from the Red Glimmer Paper and the “Christmas” was stamped with a stamp from the coordinating Merry Christmas to All stamp set.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch.  I know it’s a busy time of year and it can be hard to carve out time to craft, but this challenge will be open for three weeks.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Winter Birch Greetings — FMS415

We have a new sketch for you over at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess is the repeat Artisan award-winning, card maker extraordinaire, Narelle Farrugia.  Take a look at this fun sketch:

I had the still unopened October Paper Pumpkin kit sitting on my desk, and when I saw the sketch I thought the sparkly birch trees in the kit would work with this sketch.  So I blended an ink background using Night of Navy and Pool Party inks, and then added a couple of the birch trees and one of the sweet cardinals to make a little wintery scene.

The stamp set included in the kit has a snow stamp, which I stamped and embossed using white embossing powder.  The sentiment, which is also in the included stamp set, was also embossed on a piece of Poppy Parade card stock.

Some Snowflake Sequins were also added for some additional sparkle.  This was a pretty quick card to pull together.

Over the Moon for 24 Years — FMS414

It’s time for another new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our Kiwi friend who is supremely talented with inks and all things coloring-related, Karren Johnson, is our hostess.  Take a look at this fun sketch:

My husband and I celebrated our 24th wedding anniversary this week.  Just like the month of December does, our anniversary always sneaks up on me.  I mean, how can it be December already?!?  Since I needed to make a card fast, this sketch came to my rescue.

I pulled out the Over the Moon stamp set because it’s cute and has a sentiment that I thought would work for an anniversary, and I thought I could make it work with the sketch.

I started by masking the cow and blending some Pear Pizzazz and Balmy Blue inks on a piece of white card stock.  I then colored in the cow with my alcohol markers.

The sentiment was stamped on Basic Black card stock and embossed with white embossing powder.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch!  We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.

Thankful for Her — FMS412

It’s time for another new sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, and this week our hostess is our good friend from way up north in Canada, Jen Brum.  Take a look at this super versatile sketch:

My middle child is in her first year of college over 1,000 miles away from home.  And she is not coming home for Thanksgiving.  😦  She has tickets to her school’s big rivalry football game on the Saturday morning after Thanksgiving and has class on Wednesday, so it doesn’t make sense to come home for just two days when she’ll be home for Christmas break just two weeks later.  I keep telling myself that this is the smart thing to do, but it hurts my heart.  Another family in Michigan has offered to adopt her for the day, so she won’t be alone but I wanted to send her a care package with some treats from home to let her know we will miss her.  Here’s the card I made to put in the box.

I hadn’t used the To Every Season stamp set yet, and it has some cute images for — you guessed it — every season (well, not exactly EVERY season, but at least Fall, Winter, and Valentine’s Day).  I started by stamping the three leaf images randomly on a white piece of card stock and then colored them with my alcohol markers.  I colored the background a pretty shade of Pool Party too.

I stamped the sentiment on some Basic Black cardstock and embossed it with white embossing powder.  Some copper sequins were sprinkled on as embellishments.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch!  We love to see what you make as we browse the gallery each week.  Meanwhile, be sure to stop by the Freshly Made Sketches site to see what the design team has created for your inspiration.
