Lots of Hearts

Embossed HeartsHere’s a Valentine’s card I stuck in the mail yesterday.  I used the very cool Happy Heart Textured Impressions Embossing folder for the card base.  Then I stamped and punched three of the hearts from Groovy Love, and embossed the sentiment from last month’s My Paper Pumpkin kit.  I also punched out an arrow from the Gold Glimmer Paper using the What’s Up? punch.

Embossed Hearts Close UpThe little heart on the animal print heart is one of the Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers, which I colored with one of my Blendabilities.  I added some crochet thread and gold sequins, and arranged it all as best I could.

Enjoy your Thursday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Valentine Smooch

Valentine Snuggles and SmoochesI have another card for you using the Snuggles & Smooches set.  When I showed this to my youngest child and asked what she thought about this card, her reply was “it’s kinda messy.”  I love how she’s always honest.

I used Gorgeous Grunge to add the splatters.  I also used some washi tape and sequins.  The color scheme is Real Red, Crisp Cantaloupe, Smoky Slate, and black.  The dsp is from the Stacked with Love dsp stack.

Pirate Valentine — FMS171

One of the best things about Wednesdays is that we have a new sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.  And this week you are in for a treat, as the truly talented Rita Wright has a fun sketch for us.

I decided to make another Valentine’s card and I really wanted some coloring therapy, so I used one of the adorable images from the Hey, Valentine set.  This little pirate is so sweet, and so fun to color.

Pirate ValentineI added a strip of dsp from the Stacked with Love dsp stack, and cut a strip of stars using one of the dies from the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits.  I also added a little star clip from the Essentials Hardware Clips.

Pirate Valentine Close UpI wasn’t comfortable with all of the white space (I know — It’s a fault of mine), so I added some Crushed Curry splatters, and called it a day.

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card using the sketch.  We always love looking through the gallery and seeing what you make.  You should hop on over to the Freshly Made Sketches blog and see what the rest of the design team made.  They always inspire me.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Valentine Smooches — Monday Montage #36

Monday Montage Banner -- OctoberWe’re back with another Monday Montage Blog Hop for you.  There are ten of us participating, and we don’t want you to miss a single one.  All you need to do is click on the links at the bottom of each post to work your way through all ten posts.

Scribbled HeartI played around with a new photopolymer set this past week and had so much fun with it.  I’m going to share two of the cards in this post and I have another one to share later in the week.

Scribble Heart Close UpI pulled out some felt from my stash and cut out a couple of hearts with the Hearts Collection of framelits.  I love the texture that felt adds to a card.  I added some strips of dsp from the Stacked with Love paper pack and a little washi tape.  I used Blushing Bride, black and Real Red inks.

Smooches ValentineFor this second card, I took a piece of watercolor paper and embossed the scribbled image and heart image with white Stampin’ Emboss powder and Versamark ink.  I then took my aquapainter and applied some Blushing Bride, Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana inks over the paper.

Smooches Close UpOnce that was dry, I stamped some little hearts and added some embellishments.  I love how easy it is to make collage-style cards with this stamp set!

You’re ready to venture over to Breelin Renwick’s blog, where you should be prepared to be wowed.  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can hop on over to the fabulous Wendy Weixler’s blog.  Either way, make sure you work your way through all ten blogs.

One Cute Fox — FMS170

We’re back again with another great sketch challenge for you over at the Freshly Made Sketches site.  And this week, the amazing Jen Mitchell is our hostess.  Look at what she has for us:

This is such a great sketch!  I pulled out a new Valentine’s set — Hey, Valentine — and a new paper pad, Stacked with Love.  I think all of the images in this set are so cute, and I love the patterns and colors in the paper stack.

Foxy ValentineI colored the cute fox with Blendabilities, and I used the Hearts Border punch, which is so fun.

Foxy Valentine Close UpIt’s good to have another Valentine’s card in the stash.  Maybe I won’t have to scramble so much to get mine out in the mail this year.  I’m an optimist!

We hope you’ll join us and create your own card with the sketch this week.  We always love to see how you interpret the sketch.  You can check out what the rest of the design team created for a little inspiration over at the Freshly Made Sketches site.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Textured Speech Bubble Valentines — Monday Montage #12

Monday Montage Banner -- October

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  Grab yourself something warm to drink, scoot up your chair, and have fun looking through all ten blogs.  All you have to do is click on the “Next” button at the end of each post.

I decided to play with the super fun speech bubbles in the new Word Bubbles Framelits Dies set.  There are several fun shapes in this set, and they coordinate perfectly with the cute Just Sayin’ stamp set.  Rather than use the coordinating stamp set, I chose to play around with negative images in the speech bubbles — more specifically, hearts since it’s getting close to Valentine’s Day.

Textured Speech Bubble HeartsOn this first card, I used the small heart punch and the smallest die in the Hearts Collection Framelits for the negative images.  I also pulled out some Pink Pirouette Core-dinations card stock and used the Decorative Dots embossing folder, which is available only during Sale-a-Bration, and sanded it a little bit.  I wish I’d remember to use this stuff more — I love it!

I Freakin' Love You ValentineOn this next card, I used the Arrows embossing folder on regular Pink Pirouette card stock, and I used the Yippee-Skippee stamp set for the sentiment.  Once I got the Smoky Slate 3/4″ Chevron Ribbon arranged the way I liked, I used a stapler to hold it down, and then covered that with the button.

I think you’re ready to hop on over to Breelin Renwick’s blog to see what awesome creations she’s made this time.  If you prefer to work backwards, you can click the “Back” button and go visit Wendy Weixler’s fabulous blog.  Either way, you should be able to work your way through all of the other nine blogs.

Gold Hearts

I think I have just about finished my Valentine’s cards.  Before I get too excited about getting something done ahead of time, I still have 25 Valentines to prepare with my 3rd grade daughter (we don’t buy store-bought Valentines in this house).  And my 7th grade daughter wants me to prepare her Valentine birthday party invitations and thank you notes (yes, I have a Valentine’s baby).  So there’s still a lot of Valentine’s Day stuff to do.

Tiny Love HeartsI thought I’d try something a little different for me and set the top vellum layer at an angle.  I embossed the pretty Pool Party heart with gold embossing powder and cut out the “love” thinlit with Red Glimmer Paper.  A simple card, but I think the gold adds such an elegant touch.

Enjoy your Sunday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Love Ya — FMS120

Happy Wednesday, everyone!  Are your ready for another sketch challenge from Freshly Made Sketches?  Well, ready or not, the fantastically talented Rita Wright has a great sketch for us this week:

It has one of my favorite things — banners!  I decided to make another Valentine’s Day card, so I substituted a heart for the butterfly image in the sketch.

Love Ya ValentineMy Big Shot got a lot of work on this card.  I used the largest size banner from the Banners Framelits dies for the red patterned banner, and I used the next size of banner for the vellum layer banner.  The heart was cut using the Hearts Collection Framelits.  And the cute speech bubble was stamped with the Just Sayin’ stamp set and cut out with the Word Bubbles Framelits dies.  And last but not least, I ran the base layer through with the Arrows Embossing Folder.

I hope you’ll be able to join us and make your own card using this sketch.  Head on over to the Freshly Made Sketches site to check out what the other designers made.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

You & Me — FMS119

It’s good to be back on schedule with another Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  Today, the lovely Cindy Lovell, who has been so kind to step in with us, has an awesome sketch for us.  I think you’ll find it right on trend, as I’ve seen so many cards which have panels set on an angle.

I knew I wanted to make another Valentine’s card, so I substituted a heart for the star image on the sketch.  And since I love the look of doilies for Valentine’s Day, I added that too.  I like the way the doily softened up the lines of the sketch.

Me and YouI hope you can make the time to join us and create your own card using the sketch.  We love to look through the gallery each week and get inspiration from your creations.  Hop on over to the Freshly Made Sketches site and check out what the other designers made.

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!
