Falling Flowers Birthday — Monday Montage #76

Monday Montage Banner -- October

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I needed to make a birthday card for my sweet mother-in-law, who has been having a hard time since her knee replacement surgery last month.  I wanted to make something cheery and pretty, and I haven’t been able to play with the Falling Flowers bundle very much, so I thought it would be perfect for the occasion.

Falling Flowers Birthday

I started by stamping the beautiful flourish from the stamp set with Versamark ink onto a Pool Party card base.  I stamped the sentiment, which is a single stamp called Stylized Birthday, onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock, which I cut out with a die from the Lots of Labels Framelits Dies.

I stamped the flowers with Calypso Coral, Peekaboo Peach, and Daffodil Delight ink and colored them with a blender pen.  White Perfect Accents were added to the flower centers after they were cut out with the coordinating dies.

Falling Flowers Birthday Close UpThe fabulously detailed leaves were cut using the coordinating dies from Old Olive cardstock.

I added a piece of a Delicate White Doily and a bow made from Black Baker’s twine to finish things off.

You’re a Superstar — Monday Montage #75

Monday Montage Banner -- October

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

The Superstar stamp set has several fun star images, and they coordinate with some of the framelits sets.  Stars are always so versatile — perfect for birthdays, congratulations, encouragement, etc… and they are perfect for males or females.  Everybody needs a good star set!

Super Star

I started this card out with a strip of Dapper Denim dsp from the In Color stack.  I then stamped the starburst image with Cucumber Crush ink and used a Layering Circles Framelits die to cut it out.  The star and sentiment came from the Superstar stamp set.  I hand cut the larger star and the smaller star was cut using the Stars Framelits dies.

Super Star Close UpI could not get images of Mary Katherine Gallagher out of my head while making this card!  Any old SNL fans out there?  She’d totally approve of this card!  ha!

Big Birthday Candles — Monday Montage #74

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

My husband has one of those milestone birthdays coming up this week (he’s MUCH older than me, by the way!  ha), so I knew I needed to make a special card for him.  I pulled out my birthday themed stamp sets and sat and stared at them for a while, before deciding to use a combo of Number of Years and Birthday Banners.

50th BirthdayI started with a piece of Festive Birthday dsp, and created some candles by stamping the candle image from Birthday Banners three times – one of top of the other to create tall candles.  I cut out a circle of Vellum Card Stock using the Layering Circles Framelits, and then placed the numbers which were die-cut with the Large Numbers Framelits on top.

50th Birthday Close UpA little bit of Black Solid Baker’s Twine was looped underneath the Lots of Labels Framelits layer.

Birthday Llama — Monday Montage #73

Monday Montage Banner -- October

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

One of the bundles I was most excited about when I first saw the new annual catalog was the Festive Birthday bundle.  I love all of the banners and the bright colors.  This is a set that is perfect for both male and female cards.

Llama Manana

I started with a Tempting Turquoise card base and stamped the streamers with Tempting Turquoise ink.  I then cut an oval with the Layering Ovals Framelits from the Festive Birthday dsp.  I stamped the llama with Basic Black ink and added some colors with my Stampin’ Write markers onto his blanket.

Llama Manana Close UpWhen I showed this card to my daughter expecting squeals of delight as she likes llamas, she disapproved.  She has taken four years of Spanish in school, and said, “Mom, it’s grammatically incorrect.  ‘Fiesta’ is a noun, and you’ve used it as a verb.”  So there you have it.  I don’t think the recipient I sent this card to will mind (or even know, for that matter).

Pop of Flamingo — Monday Montage #72

Monday Montage Banner -- October

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

Flamingos seem to be everywhere these days, and they always bring a smile to my face.  How can a giant pink bird not make you happy?  We’re in the heat of Summer here, and I wanted to use some cool, pretty colors.  It seemed like they would work well with a tropical flamingo look, so this was an easy card to pull together.

Pop of Flamingo

I started by adding a watercolor wash of Pool Party ink on a piece of Watercolor Paper.  After that dried, I splattered on some gold Wink of Stella and some Basic Black ink.

I stamped the flamingo with Flirty Flamingo ink, added a little Melon Mambo ink onto the wing with a blender pen, and colored its beak with a bit of black ink.

Pop of Flamingo Close UpThe sentiment was stamped with Peekaboo Peach ink, and the pineapple was stamped with Daffodil Delight and Old Olive inks.  I punched out a circle of Pop of Pink Specialty dsp and placed it over some gold Metallic Thread.

Labels and Texture — Monday Montage #71

Monday Montage Banner -- October

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

One of the challenges of a new catalog is figuring out which products to ink up first.  Fun problem, huh!  Two of my favorite sets that I couldn’t wait to get are Touches of Texture and Labeler Alphabet.  So I decided to use them both on this card.

Hello Touches of TextureI started by stamping the background images with Dapper Denim ink.  The focal image was stamped with Basic Black ink and colored with a blender pen using Dapper Denim and Old Olive inks.  I added a little Soft Sky ink on that background with the blender pen too.

The sentiment was made using the Labeler Alphabet stamp set.  I love this set!  It’s so easy to make customized sentiments.  And you don’t have to worry about getting everything lined up exactly straight and evenly spaced because the imperfect looks adds to its charm.

End of School Year Treats — Monday Montage #70

Monday Montage Banner -- October

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

This is the last week of school for my kiddos.  Summer Vacation!!!  I’m excited to have them home full time for the summer, and I know they’re excited too.  But I’ll bet we’re all not nearly as excited as their teachers!  My daughters wanted me to make them some little treats to hand out to friends on their last day of school.  I used the new Perfectly Wrapped stamp set to whip up some cute little sacked treats in no time.

I started with some mini paper sacks.  I stamped the Happy Day stamp from Perfectly Wrapped with Flirty Flamingo ink (I love this color) and the circle outline in Daffodil Delight.

Happy Day TreatsThe banners are strips of Pool Party and Pear Pizzazz cardstock, Flirty Flamingo 3/8″ Ruched Ribbon, Silver Sequin Trim, and Pop of Pink Specialty DSP.

Happy Day Treats SingleI put some little candy treats inside. I am really loving this fun color combination, and can’t wait to use it again.

Dijon Delights — Monday Montage #69

Monday Montage Banner -- October

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I still have another sneak peek from the display boards at last month’s On Stage event to share with you today.  One of the new sets that will be available starting June 1st is Love & Affection.  It is a pretty floral set with even prettier sentiments.

Dijon Love & AffectionOne of the colors that I was asked to focus on was Delightful Dijon.  So for this card, I ran a piece of Delightful Dijon through the Big Shot with the Softly Falling embossing folder.  I then cut it into two piece and inserted a piece of white card stock, on which I stamped some of the floral images from Love & Affection with Watermelon Wonder and Mint Macaron inks.

Dijon Love & Affection Close UpThe sentiment was embossed with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  I added a little bit of black baker’s twine and called it a day.  This would be an easy card to send through the mail.

Dijon ButterflyOn this last card, I watercolored some Delightful Dijon ink onto a piece of Shimmery White card stock with a paint brush.  The butterfly was cut from Vellum Cardstock using one of the Butterflies Thinlits dies.

Aren’t these sentiments so sweet!  I love them!

Every Lovely Word — Monday Montage #68

Monday Montage Banner -- October

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is to click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I have a sneak peek for your today.  It features a stamp set that will be included in the new annual catalog, which will be released on June 1.  It’s called Love & Affection.

Every Lovely WordI love the sweet flowers in this set, but I love the sentiments even more.

I used a color combo of Watermelon Wonder, Blushing Bride, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight for this card.  To keep the Baker’s Twine exactly where I wanted it, I used little drops from the Fine Tip Glue Pen.  I love that glue!

Grateful for Watermelon (Wonder) — Monday Montage #67

Monday Montage Banner -- October

Welcome to another Monday Montage blog hop!  We are a group of ten stampers who love to share what we create with you, and all you have to do to follow along is to click on the links at the bottom of each post.

I recently made a few projects featuring the In-Color, Watermelon Wonder for OnStage.  Out of the 2015-2017 group of In-Colors, this color is my favorite.  It’s just so happy and pretty.  It’s not too pink and not too red.  And it coordinates well with so many other colors.

Grateful for Watermelon FrontI started by stamping the leaves with black ink and the flowers with Daffodil Delight ink.  The Blossom Bunch Punch easily punches the flowers out, so it’s quick and painless to pop these flowers up with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

I embossed the little lace trim with a stamp from this set.  I love the detail on this stamp, and it embosses beautifully.
