Two Scattered Seasons

I have two more convention display board samples for you today.  They both feature the stamp set, Seasonally Scattered, which will be in the upcoming Holiday Catalog and has three stamps — one for Thanksgiving, one for Christmas, and one for Valentine’s Day.  Now I know it’s way too early for any of these holidays!  But I just wanted to share what was on the display boards.

SS Card 4I used a combination of lots of pinks on this card — Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Calypso Coral.  I also used some of the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper for the heart, and the cute little heart punch included in the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack for the strip of punched-out hearts.

SS Card 4 Close UpI used a sponge dauber to apply the different colors of ink directly to the stamp before stamping on the white card stock.  It’s subtle in the picture, but more noticeable in real life.

SS Card 3Here’s a Christmas card on which I used an ombre effect.  I embossed the image with white embossing powder on white card stock.  I then used  a sponge dauber and started by swiping Marina Mist ink across the top of the panel.  I then followed this with Coastal Cabana and then Pool Party.

SS Card 3 Close UpI added some punched scalloped borders and a layer of vellum over the dsp.  I think this is a fun technique, and it really is quite easy.

All of the convention display stampers are posting their projects to a special Pinterest board so you can see all of the display projects in one convenient place.  Just click on the button below to see it.

I hope you enjoyed the sneak peeks.  Enjoy your Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Two Amazing Birthdays

I have some Convention Display Board samples for you today, this time using the Amazing Birthday stamp set.

AB Card 1I tried to focus on the new In-Colors for this card, so I used Hello Honey, Tangelo Twist, Blackberry Bliss, and Basic Gray.

AB Card 1 Close UpI added a little crazy stitching with my sewing machine, and used some dsp from the Moonlight dsp pack.

AB Card 2For this next card, I focused on some of the In-Colors which were introduced last year — Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana.  I threw in some Crumb Cake and Silver Glimmer Paper as well.

AB Card 2 Close UpI used the new star punch which is included in the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack to make the star strips.  I also used some of the fun new In-Color Sequins as well.

Typeset Flower Frenzy — FMS146

I’ve been looking forward to this Wednesday!  It’s time for a new sketch challenge at Freshly Made Sketches, and I get the privilege and pleasure of being the hostess this week. Here’s my sketch for you:

While I did have a flower in mind while making the sketch, please feel free to use any shape you’d like.  That’s part of the fun of challenges — making the sketch work for you.

Typeset Flower Frenzy I love flowers, so I couldn’t resist the new Flower Frenzy Bigz die in the new catalog.  I used some different sheets of the Typeset dsp to make the flower.  All of the flower layers were made using the one Bigz die.  I just crumpled them up and straightened them out a little before layering them.  I used some of the new Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper for the top layer of the flower.

What’s under the flower?  The top row is a stamp from Tape It, which I embossed with black embossing powder.  The bottom row is some Washi Tape from the Sweet Sadie collection.  And the sentiment is from the Four You set (I get so much use out of that sentiment set!).

Typeset Flower Frenzy Close UpThe Pistachio Pudding Baker’s Twine was a little thick for the button I used, so I unraveled a couple of the strings on it to make it a little thinner.  It was easy to do.

The Clean Team came up with some great designs with this sketch, so be sure and check out their creations at the Freshly Made Sketches site for some inspiration.  And we hope you’ll be able to play along and post your pictures in the gallery.  I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Enjoy your Wednesday!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Double Dose of Kinda Eclectic

One of the stamp sets for which I made samples for the convention display boards was Kinda Eclectic.  This was my favorite set, and I still love it!  I’ll share two of the cards I made using it today.

KE Card 3 I used the color combo of Hello Honey, Calypso Coral, Smoky Slate, and Coastal  Cabana on this one.

KE Card 3 Close UpI also used a couple of the In Color sequins on the centers of the butterflies and some Basic Gray baker’s twine as well.  Lots of fun stuff on this card!

KE Card 4I used a similar color combo with this card — just substituting Pistachio Pudding for the Calypso Coral.

KE Card 4 Close UpI used some more of the In Color Sequins and some of the Lullaby dsp.  I pierced holes around some card stock punched with the Extra-Large Oval punch using the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack.

All of the convention display stampers will be pinning their projects as they post them to a special board on Pinterest.  It will be a great place to see all of the projects that were on display for the three convention stamp sets plus some Project Life samples as well.  You can just click on the button below to see the Pinterest board.

Enjoy your Tuesday!  Be sure to come back tomorrow as I’m hosting the next challenge for Freshly Made Sketches.  Thanks for stopping by!

Feathered Thanks — Monday Montage #24

Monday Montage Banner -- OctoberWell, Convention is over.  It was fabulous and I already miss my stamping friends and am looking forward to next year’s event.  While I was there, I was able to hook up with the Monday Montage team members who were able to go (unfortunately that wasn’t all of us), and of course we had to swap cards! I’ll be sharing mine tonight, and I’ll bet some of the others will be doing the same.  So make sure you hop on to all ten of the blogs by clicking on the buttons at the bottom of each post.

Hooray for the Montage GirlsI used the A Happy Hooray stamp set and the Hello Darling stamp set on this one.  The feathers and sentiment come from the first, and the striped circles from the latter.

Hooray for the Montage Girls Close UpThe feathers were embossed with Crushed Curry embossing powder.  I used a color scheme of Crisp Cantaloupe, Pool Party, Crushed Curry, and Strawberry Slush.

You’re ready to hop on over to the super talented Breelin Renwick’s blog.  Just click on the Next button below.  If you prefer to work your way backwards, you can hop on over to Wendy Weixler’s amazing blog.

Convention Swap #2

Greetings from our last day of Stampin’ Up’s annual convention (sniff, sniff).  I have another one of my swap cards to share with you today.  All of the stampers who made projects for the Convention display boards agreed to swap one of their cards with each other.  Talk about a fantastic swap!

I used the Kinda Eclectic set for this swap.  This card was a little “more involved” than I normally make, but I loved it and for some crazy reason I thought it wouldn’t be too hard to make 24 copies of it.  Ha!  Let’s just say I probably wouldn’t make that same decision again.  🙂

KE SwapI started by embossing the Positively Chevron background stamp on Soft Sky card stock with clear embossing powder.  I then stamped the Dictionary background stamp with Basic Gray ink, and stamped off once on scratch paper before stamping over the chevron stamped card stock.

I embossed the leaf images with gold embossing powder and cut them out.  The little scalloped edge between the Soft Sky card stock and the Lullaby dsp strip was punched from a Gold Foil Sheet.

KE Swap Close UpI cut a label using the Apothecary Accents framelits and then paper pierced an oval shape from the Essentials Paper Piercing Pack on the label.  I then added some fun ribbons — Soft Sky 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon, Venetian Crochet Trim, and Gold Sequin Trim.

The sentiment is from the sentiment set, And Many More, which I borrowed from a sweet friend.

Come back tomorrow evening for another Monday Montage blog hop.  I’ll be sharing the card I made to swap with that group of fabulous ladies.

Enjoy your Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!

It’s Convention Time!

Stampin’ Up’s annual convention starts today in Salt Lake City, and I am so excited to be there!  This is an event that I look forward to every year.  I love spending time with stamping friends (some of whom I only get to see once a year) — it’s like a girls get-away. And I get to see lots of stamping demonstrations and cool products.  It’s a great week!

One of the fun things I always look forward to is swapping.  I made three different swap cards this year as I signed up to swap with three different groups.  Here is one I swapped last night at our team swap.

KE Card 2I used one of my favorite sets, Kinda Eclectic, and used a color combination of Hello Honey, Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral, and Basic Gray.  The washi tape is from the Retro Fresh set.

KE Card 2 Close UpI’ll have lots more to share with you from Convention in the days ahead, including lots of samples I made for the display boards.

Have a great Thursday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Thank You Darling — FMS145

It’s Wednesday, and that means it’s time for a new challenge over at the Freshly Made Sketches site.  And our fabulously talented Aussie friend, Narelle Farrugia, has a great sketch for us.

I have been loving the Hello Darling stamp set lately.  I was on the fence about this set, as I was not sure about how versatile it would be.  But I’m so glad I got it!  I keep coming up with more ways to use it.  And when I saw Narelle’s sketch, I knew I wanted to use this stamp set.

Thank You Darling FMSI used a color combo of So Saffron, Coastal Cabana, Tangerine Tango, and Old Olive.  I embossed the floral image with clear embossing powder on the So Saffron card stock, which gave it almost the appearance of Crushed Curry — love it!

Thank You Darling

The sentiment comes from the set Four You.

I hope you’ll join us and play along with this challenge.  You can see what the other designers made with the sketch at the Freshly Made Sketches site.

Birthday Confetti

Amazing Confetti BirthdayWhen I saw this fun dots stamp from the Dotty Angles stamp set, I thought it looked like confetti.  And one occasion in which confetti would be appropriate would be birthdays.  So I paired it with the Amazing Birthday set.

Amazing Confetti Birthday Close UpI embossed the dots with white embossing powder, and used a color combination of Pumpkin Pie, Hello Honey, Bermuda Bay, and Melon Mambo.

Enjoy your Monday!  Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Bloom

Hello BloomHere’s a simple card using the stamp, Bloom for You.   I love how it coordinates with punches, which makes it even easier to use.  The sentiment is from the set, Hi There, and I love the font on this one.

Hello Bloom Close UpI paired it with some dsp from the Flashback pack, and used one of the Project Life Grid Cards (which are a steal at 50 cards for just $3.95).  I used the Spiral Border punch at the top of the card.

Enjoy your Saturday!  Thanks for stopping by!
